Version 2.0 of the Landcruiser is nearly ready for its JP Fab custom canopy, GVM upgraded FTE powered, auto, chopped and extended 600mm chassis with custom rear doors with hidden toolboxes, this build was mostly done in house, only being sent out for paint. Massive thanks to all involved K Paz Automotive Spraypainting and Panelbeating JPFab & Clint at and of course the S&E Automotives boys.

Chris bought his VE in for a service and OTR. Upon 1st inspection we found the engine had a terrible 5psi of oil pressure. We tore out the engine and stripped it down and found that the cam bearings were absolutely expired and the cause of the oil hemorrhage. We cleaned everything up and prepped everything ready for re assembly and replaced all components required to give this 6lt a new healthy life. Previously it had a clutch fitted elsewhere and well this one had us lost for words.!! No dowels in the pressure plate, CSC stack height was wrong causing the slave to over travel and snapped the limit ring off it, gearbox bolts where loose and missing, incorrectly bleed and full of air, both an early and a late model spigot bearing fitted and incorrectly and last but not least it had M10 bolts in the flywheel and the OE is an M11. Can't believe it didn't send itself through the floor!!!!
Once running we sent it off to Shannon at Tunecorp for him to do his thing. And for a small cam it made a respectable 462hp on the hub dyno. Back on the road. All fresh and the issues resolved this beauty can soak up the highway km's now.

This is a story of a Gentleman who loves cars and a Workshop that loves building them. Shane is no stranger to S&E Automotives. He has had us previously build his LX hatch with a 434ci setup that has graced the likes of Forged Magazine. Having a thirst for wanting something that screams character and muscle we sat with Shane and started this Insane VC HDT "Big Banger". The project is a headlight to bumper build of goodness. With the VC having such a standout body kit from factory the only way to highlight it was to remove the factory wheel tubs and welded in a new more accommodating tub set to make room for the 20x12 Simmons wrapped in 325 25 20 tyres, Using a Competition Engineering sheet metal 9" diff we shortened and made all the 4 link kit work. Keeping the 9" nice and central a triangulated diff track bar was made. Having all the brute force coming from the back end the need to strengthen the body/chassis was the next point of interest. Design started on a strong and elegant 6 point cage with side intrusion bars. Also adding some individual touches that make the cage stand out and stronger than normal were also added. Chassis connectors from the back to the front section of the car were welded to tie everything together and also using the rear section of cage to support the coil over suspension mounts. This whole roll cage was not a generic cut to fit kit. It was all bent, notched and welded right here in our workshop as with all the fabrication. In the engine bay we fabricated a large coolant tank, fuel tank and catch can mounted underneath to follow the lines in the engine bay. The car will be running a SBC with hi helix 871 blower with a big and ugly hat. It will be backed by a Race Trans Australia TH400 box and consume Methanol as its diet. There is so much more to come for this build and as a team that is screaming to keep building amazing cars for our customers. More progress photos and information will be coming … STAY TUNED !!!

Are you a talented mechanic eager to work in a performance workshop where quality and pride are still highly regarded?

S&E Automotives are currently looking for a suitable candidate for our Maddington based workshop.
We have a huge demand for project builds and service work where no two jobs are ever the same.
We are looking for a skilled tradesman or mechanically minded individual with a passion for modified vehicles and attention to detail, high personal standards and a strong work ethic.

About you
previous experience as a qualified mechanic/tradesperson
a passion for all things modified and custom
a keen eye for detail and a high level of workmanship
be reliable, honest, punctual, hard-working and self-motivated
current WA drivers licence (Class C)
eligible to be listed a registered repairer under our motor vehicle repair business licence

Duties
complete ground up restorations to general service work, engine building, fabrication of exhausts, intercooler pipework, roll cages, wheel tubs etc

This position is Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm with overtime on offer or flexibility if required
$40++ per hour for suitable candidates

We checked this insane clean ride for a noise from the transmission area. Upon inspection we found the convertor bolts were loose and flex plate to crank bolts too. We replaced the flex plate with a sfi rated unit and fitted new ARP bolts where required. Re-assemble and roadtested.

Beautiful car. Look forward to seeing this again.

Holden Colorado with some injector concerns. Client filled fuel tank with contaminated diesel and the injectors decided enough was enough. We replaced the injectors and fitted all new required seals and gaskets. New fuel filter and drain and cleaned the tank. Programmed all the new injectors and it's now back to being a serviceable rig.

Maintenance and cleanliness is king.
