Firstly, a massive thank you to everyone who continues to support Spuds Detail Garage! The demand for our detailing services has been fantastic, and because of this, we’re making a small change to how our bookings operate.

📅 WE’RE MOVING TO A MOSTLY WAITLIST-BASED BOOKING SYSTEM

Due to the demand for our services, managing our other business commitments, and Spuds Detail Garage operating primarily as a weekend service, we have moved to a mostly waitlist-based booking model.

While we’ll always do our best to accommodate your preferred date, unfortunately we can’t guarantee that every requested date will be allocated.

We appreciate your patience and understanding! 🙌

🥔 SO, HOW DOES THE WAITLIST WORK?

It’s pretty simple!

👉 Submit your preferred date along with your booking details.

👉 You’ll then be placed into the queue for that date.

👉 Our waitlist operates on a first come, first served basis.

👉 When a booking spot becomes available, the first person in the queue will be notified and given the opportunity to secure it.

👉 They’ll have a set amount of time to confirm their booking. If they don’t, the spot will automatically be offered to the next person on the list.

👉 If the available spot is taken by someone ahead of you, we’ll let you know and encourage you to submit another preferred date.

Joining the waitlist does not guarantee your requested date, but we’ll always do our best to fit as many of you in as possible.

Moving to this system allows us to better manage the high demand while continuing to give every vehicle the time and attention it deserves.

We know it’s a little different from the traditional booking system, and we really appreciate everyone working with us.

one of our VIP clients stopped by the Spuds Detail Garage with their Holden ZB Calais for a well-deserved refresh! 🔥✨

Like many daily drivers, it was suffering from the usual wash-induced swirl marks along with plenty of built-up grime. Nothing we couldn't handle!

We started with a thorough decontamination wash to strip away embedded contaminants before moving on to a single-stage machine polish. This removed around 65–70% of the swirl marks, bringing the paint back to life. The bonnet and boot received a slightly more aggressive polishing approach due to heavier weathering and more severe swirling.

While we were at it, we also polished the windscreen and taillights to improve clarity and finish.

To lock in the results, we topped everything off with our premium ceramic coating, making future washes easier while helping to reduce the risk of wash-induced marring and keeping that gloss looking its best.

Safe to say it's looking fresh as now! 😍

Today’s visit was a double‑header for Spuds Detail Garage — and a fun one.

We swung by a previous client to inspect the ceramic coating we installed on their 1957 Chev, making sure everything was still holding strong. While we were there, we got asked to take a look at the roof of a HK wagon that needed a bit of love.

Initial inspection made me think it only needed a finishing polish… but once we blew the dust off for a proper look, it was clear the roof needed something a little more serious.

We ended up performing a heavy compound rotary cut with wool, followed by a finishing polish to knock back some pretty major haze, scratches and swirls. She’s not 100% — the next level would be wet sanding and multi‑stage refinement — but this is what we could safely achieve without going too aggressive.

After the first compounding stage, we checked in with the client to make sure they were happy with the results. They were stoked, so we finished it off, polished out the rotary holograms, and laid down some protection.

Another day, another Kia! This one was just as clean as the last — only needing a light detailing rescue to get it shining again.

It scored our full interior cleanup and our newest express wash service: pre‑spray encapsulation + a chemical rinseless wash. Winter‑friendly, garage‑friendly, and absolutely no pressure washer required.

We went to war on this one!
one of our latest details was this Holden Acadia , well‑loved, well‑used, and well overdue for a deep clean. So we broke out the big guns — air, steam, extraction, heavy interior cleaners — you name it, we used it.

She’s not showroom, but she’s a massive 100% improvement and looking sharp again.

Nothing beats bringing a workhorse back to life.

Saturday’s visit to this 2021 Toyota LandCruiser was meant to be a full inspection and install of a ceramic coating.

Unfortunately, the weather had other plans — at just 6 degrees, it was far too cold to apply ceramics safely. These coatings need specific temperature ranges to bond properly, and 6 degrees is way outside that window.

Rather than waste the trip, we gave the Cruiser a full inside-and-out cleanup to keep it looking sharp.

For this coming weekend, we’ve opted for a resin‑polymer‑based paint sealant instead — a non‑ceramic option that can be applied in all conditions and still delivers up to 12 months of protection when maintained correctly.

This Picanto is looking brand new again.

✨ Spuds Detail Garage – Today’s Transformation
We rolled up to a Kia Picanto that had been living life on the edge — 12 months without a inside clean — but honestly, it surprised us. For a car that had been left to its own devices, it held up better than most of the interior rescues we usually tackle.

So we did what we do best:
