You may have seen reports today regarding a nationwide recall affecting certain diesel oil filters sold through Bunnings.

For any of our customers wondering whether this affects your vehicle, Don’t stress! 👍
Ambrosio Automotive does not use these filters and none of the affected products have been fitted to our customers vehicles.
We only use quality trusted filters and parts sourced through reputable automotive suppliers when servicing your vehicle.

So if we’ve recently serviced your D-MAX, MU-X, BT-50 or any other vehicle there’s no need to worry 👌

And yes… there’s a reason your service doesn’t come with an oil filter from the Bunnings aisle. 🤣🔧

We’ll stick to quality automotive parts from trusted suppliers… and leave Bunnings for the weekend snags. 🌭😂

🧑‍🔧 Another Mini Apprentice on Duty! 🔧

Earlier this year it was Nico’s turn to come out and see what Dad gets up to at work… well today it’s Remy’s turn! 💙

For the first time our youngest little guy is tagging along with Dad for the day and getting his first taste of life at Ambrosio Automotive.

One of our favourite parts about running a family business is being able to have days like this. The boys get to see what Dad does, learn a little bit about hard work, meet some of our awesome customers and most importantly make some pretty special memories along the way.

At 3 years old we are not quite ready to hand him the toolbox just yet but judging by the vest he’s already got his job title sorted! 😅

From our family to yours, thank you as always for supporting our little family run business. It means more than you know! 🙌

When replacing the gasket doesn’t fix the leak… 🔧

This Mitsubishi Outlander had its rocker cover gasket replaced several times previously by different repairers, but unfortunately the oil leak continued returning from the same area.

With a repeat leak like this, we wanted to look further than the gasket itself and find out why it wasn’t sealing properly.

After removing the rocker cover and checking it with a straight edge, we found the plastic cover had warped in the rear corner and could no longer apply even pressure to the gasket.

We replaced the complete rocker cover with a new gasket, thoroughly cleaned and degreased the surrounding area, then completed an extended road test and reinspected everything.

The result? No more oil leak! ✅

Sometimes the part that keeps failing is only the symptom not the actual cause. Proper diagnosis can prevent the same repair from having to be carried out again and again.

🔧 A GREAT WAY TO START A FRIDAY! 🔧

This tidy little Mini Cooper S is our customer’s pride and joy but an annoying coolant leak had left it parked up and understandably he didn’t want to risk overheating the engine and causing serious damage.

We pressure tested the cooling system and traced the leak to one of the coolant hoses. After a closer inspection we found the factory hose clamp had lost its tension and was no longer sealing properly.

The area was cleaned, The hose was refitted and the faulty clamp was replaced with an upgraded hose clamp. We then pressure tested the system again, Checked thoroughly for any further leaks and took the Mini for a test drive.

✅ No more coolant leak
✅ Cooling system holding pressure
✅ Mini back on the road
✅ One very happy customer!

Sometimes an annoying problem comes down to something relatively simple but finding it correctly is the important part.

🚨 5 WARNING SIGNS YOUR CAR IS TRYING TO TELL YOU SOMETHING 🚗🔧

Cars will often give you warning signs before something becomes a bigger problem. Here are 5 things you shouldn't ignore:

1️⃣ NEW OR UNUSUAL NOISES
Squealing, grinding, knocking, clicking or clunking noises are usually happening for a reason. If something suddenly sounds different, it's worth getting checked.

2️⃣ WARNING LIGHTS ON THE DASH
An engine, ABS, battery, oil pressure or temperature warning light shouldn't just become part of the dashboard decorations 😂. Some faults may be minor, while others need immediate attention.

3️⃣ VIBRATIONS OR CHANGES IN THE WAY IT DRIVES
New vibrations through the steering wheel, brake pedal or vehicle itself can point towards issues with brakes, tyres, suspension or driveline components.

4️⃣ FLUID LEAKS UNDER THE CAR
Oil, coolant, transmission fluid or other fluids appearing underneath your vehicle shouldn't be ignored. Even a small leak can develop into something much bigger.

5️⃣ CHANGES IN TEMPERATURE 🌡️
If your temperature gauge is running hotter than normal, moving around unexpectedly or you notice coolant loss — get it checked. Continuing to drive an overheating engine can turn a relatively simple repair into a very expensive one.
