Made a start on the Rolls-Royce 20/25 today. I had wanted to get her up on the ramp and give the underside a good clean before doing anything. However, the ramp is and will be taken up for some time, so I decided to start removing the paint. Any progress is good progress, I suppose.
I haven't removed anything as I don't intend to do so just yet. Leaving the guards/wings on serves multiple purposes. First, it holds them in place and keeps the job cleaner than having them on a bench, where they would be moving around. Secondly, as I am driving this car as often as I can, the removal would prevent me from driving, as I would choose one of my other cars instead.
I will be removing each panel one by one, once the paint is completely removed, and I have assessed what work needs to be done in what order. I prefer to leave the bigger jobs until the time I have to take her off the road for painting.
