With the arrival in late september of our Midas Touch Gold pads in 140 and 170 mm aka 5.5 and 6.5 inch, we will be introducing the Crown Jewels 5 pack bundle as a replacement for our intro kit we started with.

The bundle includes all five of our foam pads in the range as well as one Afterburner pad just for people to try something totally different who have not experienced it before.

Dual Action polishing machines tend to make foam polishing pads that are single layer design to turn dome shaped eventually and once they do they cannot be used on a rotary later on as they will not centre properly whereas rotary machines keep the pads flat like they are new

This is why Matt recommends you purchase his original series Spitfire Green All Rounder pads and divide them up into a set for rotary and another for DA as eventually the DA ones cannot be used on a rotar

This is why matt developed the Pad King super series - each foam pad colour has a different material and grade below it to suit that foam exclusively to enhance power transfer from the polisher to the paintwork and also protect the velcro adhesives and adhesion promoter that bonds all three layers (velcro-interface-foam)

Eighteen months of R & D testing on flat, curved and very dented panels was done to find out which material and grade is best for every single foam in the range and see which material and grade kept the pad spinning and at what machine speed it stalled

Matt quickly found out that if you use a grade that is a tad too firm or even too soft or a material that's too heavy that it negatively effects the pad's ability to contour to convex and concave panel shapes and even those slightly curved.

This testing enabled matt to find the ideal interface material and grade for each pad to actually enhance power transfer from the polisher to the paint but also protect the 200 degrees temperature resistant velcro adhesive from being weakened by solvents in certain polishes.

The Super Series Advantage

Get optimal correction, polishing and finishing results from the range, use them on any type of polisher, better power transfer, longer service life and use one pad on a whole car and they hold up for car after car.

Put them in a washing machine and they come out much straighter than basic designed pads which tend to become almost C shaped
retaining their shape better

Superior design to a dual foam sandwich pad as the interface material below the foam requires 110 degrees celcius to make it fully soften, is closed cell so no product can soak through it and reach the velcro and delaminate the layers or the loop velcro.

Usable on any type of polisher not just DA

Frost Bite, Lone Star and Black Semi Finishing (LC HDO Orange pad rival) will be the first made in this series then the Spitfire Green All Rounder last of all

Once these are made, production moves to the Elite Series which evolves this design way further

Recently I have connected with the Australian distributors for AIR FUKA car dryers with an amazing 500-650 km/h blow dry effect - coin operated at car wash centres

I will be checking out their booth at the Car Wash Expo here in Adelaide in October for three days

They also have a detailing centre now testing out and favouring the pad king brand polishing pads

This is exactly why i still use and teach rotary based paint correction in my training courses along with DA systems - for these six reasons precisely.

The only difference - pete suggests DA finishing and I definitely do also but i also teach rotary finishing for when you have the paints that make it possible. Usually top quality aftermarket paints.

I have finished 400 cars with a rotary. OEM paint id say finish with DA but show car aftermarket paint, rotary will deliver several more gloss units and higher clarity

The Pad King After Burner pads can be used on DA and rotary with the pads running quite cool on DA but can level texture better on rotary

They really take DA capability to a new level with better than denim/velvet finishing ability but a cut that is 80-85% as good on soft and medium soft paints

Solution - hand sanding with 3000 and 5000 grit then machine polished out

Never underestimate the power of sanding - either by hand or machine. It is amazing what a light sand can do to car paint compared to multiple paint corrections on it - massive change without making the paint flat

Instead of grinding away with compound, embrace sanding paper and discs, the top quality ones can work wonders

The Pad King Super Series foams - a quick rundown

Each foam features the most ideal interface material type and specific grade for it. Derived from eighteen months of R & D testing and many thousands of dollars worth of interfaces used and many disregarded due to negatively effecting some foams ability to contour to various panel shapes.

A few foams to feature an anti-vibration and anti-shock interface material for the Elite Series range and 75/90 mm pads only

Other brands just use one material type and grade for all of their pads - this does not meet the stringent standard of the pad king brand that wishes to push the boundaries and break new ground.

Each pad made here in SA (Frostbite, Lone Star and the Black foam which will rival the HDO Orange foam) is more thermally durable and made with 150 and 200 degrees celcius temperature resistant adhesives, special primers for optimal permanent bond and a prep process second to none prior to applying the adhesives to all the layers of the pad.
