A bit of a milestone today. The last 2 ribs in the steamer, cooking away and about to be fed into the boat.
These ribs are replacing a Bulkhead Ground, as the bulks are being moved to accommodate new fit out.

It’s been a busy few weeks with the continuing project of removing old ribs, cleaning and repairing hull planking, steaming in new ribs into place and copper nailing and roving.

With the timber machined, dressed and packed into 3x lamination. The steamer is fired up for the first rib to go in and steam for app 1h 20m.

With the old fish room and bilge cleaned out, we are now able to truly see the extent of damage the ribs and planking have suffered. This type of decay is due to the fibreglass fish room not allowing the timber to breathe, thus turning it into compost.

I’m looking for skilled labourers to assist with restoration work on a 60ft ex trawler located in Lakes Entrance.
Need people ready to start ASAP. Currently 3 weeks work available with the possibility of ongoing work for the right person.
Must have ABN and Double Vax. (construction site regulations)
