Check out these Photos.

Our customer has just received his 1941 Harley Knucklehead tanks and couldn’t believe they were the same parts as he’d given us to repair as several many others told him they were stuffed and couldn’t believe repaired so he had quite a few sleepless nights .
These tanks are extremely rare items and had to be saved but the absolute butchery from previous repairs was absolutely ridiculous ad Someone in the past had decided it would be a good idea to remove all the badge clips that were originally spot welded to both tanks with a hammer and chisel so in doing this they did complete their task but damaged the tanks that badly they had knocked a heap of holes in both of them while doing so, so again they thought it would be a good idea to try and fill the holes with bloody bronze and as I’ve mentioned many times prior bronze is 1 of the worst things you can use on a tank as it cracks the parent metal and keeps cracking so the repair gets bigger and bigger, so after removing the back sections and chemically stripping them all the bronze and the cracks were cut out and removed so new replacement pieces could be made, shaped and butt welded into place and all flame welded beaten and planished along the way so they could be file finished.
After our repair sections were completed the tanks were lightly blasted internally and the back sections replaced, they were then tested for leaks and the badge clips installed. The tanks were again lightly blasted, primed, dry rubbed and reprimed and were then ready for collection.

Another beauty
A customer bought what we thought was a nice 1954 Golden Flash into the workshop the other day for a few strange noises, a multitude of oil leaks and copious quantities of smoke out of the exhaust pipes, and this is what we found after inspection and a full tear down on an in brackets “restored bike” from a private seller.

* Newish valves that are loose in the guides and don’t seat 100%
* Glazed bores.
* Leaking Head gasket and Rocker box gaskets.
* Leaking Crankcases at the adjoining surfaces, this was smeared with devcon to try and slow it all down 🤣🤣.
*Buggered oil pump.
* Big end bearings down to copper
* Extremely worn Cam Followers.
* Worn Cam Shaft.
* Some very amateurish Home made gaskets assembled with silicone.
* Worn Carburettor and slide.
* 12 volt horns on a 6v system
* Generator not charging.
* Sub standard wiring harness & unprotected in areas.
* Missing several clutch rollers.
* Missing 1 of the 2 half collets behind the clutch.
* Missing the Rocker oil feed banjo sealing washers, the bolts fitted with silicone.
* Oil scavenge pipe rubbing on the Flywheel
* A bottom end thats never really been apart with Conrods rocking excessively diagonally.
* No oil pickup strainer.
* And all that other stuff in between.
I haven’t managed to strip the gearbox yet so 1 can only imagine what thats like inside.
Just remember lads all that glitters aint Gold, we do offer a service for both buyers and sellers with inspection and report along with photos if your not quite sure, so please reach out if need be.

What else do you do but polish your Goldie and have a beer or 3 at the Bathurst easter rally many moons ago with my dear ol dad, unfortunately dad can’t ride anymore so this its a fond memory, its strange to remember the very first time when i got my bike license and rode with him on the road then the very last time we rode together about 10 years ago then 1 day he just stopped ridding and everything is now just a memory.

Quite a few lads had commented and asked in 1 of my previous posts for updates and photos for this repair so heres update No1 on our customers Yamaha tank before it goes in for a light sandblast.
So after emptying out the majority of the fuel it was washed out several times before being actually cleaned out and degassed so it was safe to remove a section to allow access for the repair. The job was beaten back into its rough shape before being beaten and worked with a hardwood timber mallet to get it even closer to its factory shape without stretching the material even more than it was, she was then beaten and shrunk so it felt right before i introduced the body file to finish it all off.
This repair will have its primer dry rubbed as there will probably be a few rub throughs and if so it will be reprimed, but this repair will require no Bog or body fillers whatsoever.
Stay tuned.

Just arrived from the UK to Australia in 7 days including the day of payment is a very original and nearly untouched RRT close ratio gearbox for a very early 1956 DBD34 Goldie.
A big thank you to Gary Allan from Hampshire for describing this to a tee and the brilliant packaging and photos along the way, this box will go towards an unrestored 56 Goldie we are recommissioning at the moment that someone has replaced the box with an STDT at some stage, it hasn’t been dismantled yet but so far on inspection there is absolutely no wear in the clutch actuating arm and the same with the skinny 1/4 sprocket but all bearings, seals etc will be replaced but kept with some patina that will suit the condition of the bike.

Scammer Alert Timeless Moto Parts, please read

A good read and some great photos to expose another scammer so please share far and wide.

Okay heres the story
I actually repaired and painted this tank in the photos a few years ago now, it is posted on our page here sometime ago if you scroll down, the photos were taken at my dads house which has not long sold, and my Hilux ute there was written off not long after the photos were taken, this actual tank is on a Rocket Goldstar thats sitting in my workshop as we speak so please guys don’t try and buy it off these guys because you won’t receive it.
If you look on his page there is numerous Goldstar and other parts supposedly available but please guys do your homework before you decide to buy and have a joyful and Merry Christmas.

Its amazing at times the parcels we open and find hidden “treasures”from previous repairs if you could call them that, so here’s another day in my office and another headache that could have easily been avoided by giving this tank to someone thats knows what their doing prior to practicing their Mig welds on a very rare aluminium Suzuki RM370a tank , whoever had a crack at this clearly didn’t know what their doing and should sell the welding machine and never touch 1 again.
Yes your seeing this correctly, dents have been welded and welded to try and fill them and then the top sanded and linished 🤣, the material thickness in ares is so thin you could push a hole in it with your finger and other areas are 5/8 inch thick, so this job will go into the V***r blaster to start with and then we’ll look at cutting the top out and replacing it with a new section.

A customer dropped in his lovely matching numbered 1955 Golden Flash A10 Beeza on Saturday morning as he was hearing or thought he was hearing a “grumbling” noise in or around the motor.
Now he purchased this bike only 12 months ago as a “Restored” machine and this was only his 3rd ride and approximately 500 miles tops and this is what we found.
* Leaking Head gasket.
* Barrels incorrectly bored.
* 2 x incorrect valves along with the springs & collets in the head.
* Broken piece on 1 of the piston skirts.
* The sharp end of a Nail used as the Camshaft Key.
* Crankshaft below maximum undersize, with all Big end bearings well into the Copper.
* crankshaft end float at 0.037.
* Loose timing side main bush loose in the cases with a seperate bush loctited to the Crankshaft main journal.
* The inner race on the drive side main bearing came out with the crank, this also appears to be loctited to the journal.
* Both Gudgeon pins where far to tight in the pistons and were discolouring from the heat.
* Oil pump basically seized and full of rubbish.
* Blue silastic throughout the motor.
* Hardened washer missing off the crankshaft gear.
And the gearbox isn’t much better, having what appears to be home made bushes that are incorrectly machined, Grumbly bearings and missing its thrust washers, this was actually causing severe end float on the Layshaft which in turn was allowing the box to fall into gear as it was being wheeled backwards in neutral.
So everything has been washed up and cleaned, parts ordered, and all aluminium parts are ready for V***r Blast.
Not bad for a supposedly reconditioned motor.
