The URC.3 sound system remote control I mentioned yesterday is cool and all, but why would you want or need it?

1. The factory touchscreen doesn't have a subwoofer level setting. Sometimes you want nice, smooth bass, and sometimes you want to wang it because... Well, you have a Hybrid Audio Clarus 12" in the boot.

2. The factory touchscreen puts out great sound... To a point. We've corrected its frequency response, but we can't remove the distortion it adds to the background of everything you listen to, nor the "variable loudness" where bass goes away as the volume goes up. In this system you can play music via bluetooth directly to the DSP amplifier, and the URC.3 is a handy volume control. (You can still use Apple CarPlay on the factory touchscreen at the same time too!)

Helix's URC.3 is a neat sound system controller - not as many features as the Conductor, but also more cost effective.
In this Subaru, it's controlling subwoofer level, switching to bluetooth direct playback and bluetooth volume. We printed a bezel so it could take the place of the cigarette lighter and look like a factory option.
