Restorations, maintenance and modifications to Australian classics. Why are we doing this?

The short answer is that we love seeing classic cars cruising the streets; whether it be Sunday drives down the coast, club meets or driven daily to work. Most classic car enthusiasts just want to be able to turn the key and go for a drive. But for many, the joy of their classic car can be overshadowed by the following problems. Problem 1: Your 30+ year old car may not be reliable enough to get you to your destination and back with confidence. Problem 2: You are chasing more horsepower and don't have the space, time or knowledge to complete the work. Problem 3: Your existing modifications have caused a flow on effect of reliability issues. Problem 4: Your classic car project has been put on hold and gathering dust instead of being enjoyed. Mat Salvador and Nick McCulloch specialise in reliable performance modifications to classic cars to ensure trouble free cruising. With over 30 combined years in the auto trade and both avid car enthusiasts Mat and Nick pride themselves on their craftsmanship and attention to detail. They are changing the way classic car projects are managed from the initial consultation through to completion with industry leading communication and technology. So whether your pride and joy is a classy cruiser, a 9 second streeter or something in between, Elite Street Classics wants to see you and your car on the road.

Ignition failure 🤦🏻‍♂️ The xm cut dead luckily before backing out of the garage on our way to our 10 year wedding anniversary, took a minute to diagnose but thought it was worth sharing that black mark you can see on the distributor rotor was the cause.. it had failed after a few thousand miles arcing out through the distributor shaft. Will be keeping a spare rotor in the glove box from now on!!
