🚐📚 DO YOU KNOW? — THE STORY OF THE FIRST CARAVAN! 🐴

Ever wondered where the humble caravan actually came from?

Believe it or not, caravanning has a history stretching back well over 100 years! 🤯

🏕️ THE ORIGINAL CARAVAN — 1885

The first caravan is widely credited to Scottish author and adventurer Dr William Gordon Stables.

In 1885, he commissioned a specially built horse-drawn caravan called “The Wanderer” and used it to travel around Britain.

And this wasn't just a basic wagon!

“The Wanderer” was designed for travelling in comfort and featured:

🛏️ Sleeping accommodation
🍳 Cooking facilities
🏡 Living space
🐴 Horse-drawn transport
🌳 Everything needed for travelling on the road

Pretty impressive when you consider this was the 1880s!

Fast-forward more than 140 years and caravans have come a VERY long way! 🚐💨
