Senior Performance Light — where are you?

Karting NSW added Senior Performance Light to this weekend's lineup, hoping to bring back entries in our air-cooled classes following a sharp decline in the mid weight. So far, the numbers are looking a little light (no pun intended).

Decisions on which classes to run are never easy - as a sport we try to make the call that works for the largest number of people, and while it's not always a perfect system, the intent behind it always is.

This is where you come in. Classes only survive if people support them, and fewer entries means fewer classes, which means less choice for everyone. That's not a great spot for the sport to be in.

We'd love to see you out there this weekend. Get your entry in.

Dads? We stan.

As Dad is choosing to spend Fathers Day with us, we thought we'd put together a little gift pack for one lucky Karting NSW Dad who attends Dunlop Kart Stars at Orange Kart Club . Full of all the things we know he loves, this pack will be drawn at presentation on Sunday 6th September*

*must be present to claim - if won by a junior driver, make sure you give it to your favourite Dad.

YOUR CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP UPDATE
Complete with commentary thanks to Chris!

The competition is fierce for the Novice championship with one round to go. Harry, Alyssa and Brandon have driven well all year. With only the best 5 rounds to count, this one is too close to call. There could be a few changes to the order once the best 5 rounds are selected.

It looks like a great battle for the Rookies championship with one round to go. With the best 5 rounds to count, this looks like a shootout between Harry and Oliver. There is everything to play for at our next meeting.

In the Junior Lights, this one looks like a shootout between Stanley and Mason. Looks like winner take all in November.
In the Heavies, the battle between Tyler and Cooper will go down to the wire in November. Once again, this one looks like a winner takes it all shootout.
Overall, we cannot pick between Tyler, Stanley, Mason and Cooper. If we consider this is best 5 of 6 rounds, there are really only 7 points separating the top 4 as some of our drivers do not drop any points. We won’t know a result here until November.

In 4SS Light, it looks like reigning champion Ryan has this one tied up with 2 wins and 2 seconds already. Lovely to see a few of the newer drivers close to the top (Chris and Graham), as well as the return of “living legend” Nick Agland.
In the Heavies, it is great to see some of our favorites coming out and having a drive!

For the first time, Tillotson’s have been running regularly this year. A lot of our well known drivers have had a run in this class. We hope this class continues to grow.

2 Stroke Classes
Unfortunately, it looks like drivers have been chopping and changing between classes for our high performance karts all year. It does not seem like any driver will compete in the same class 4 times during the year – and several drivers have driven both 2 strokes and 4 strokes. Rest assured, your points will count towards the senior overall tally – best score of each meeting, no matter which class.
