Apprentice Automotive Painter / Trade Assistant
Looking to kick-start your career in automotive painting?
McCarthy Panel Works is looking for a motivated Apprentice Automotive Painter / Trade Assistant to join our paint team in Mackay.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is hands-on, reliable, willing to learn, and interested in building a long-term career in automotive painting and refinishing.
You’ll be learning from experienced automotive painters and gaining hands-on skills in:
✔ Paint preparation
✔ Sanding, masking and priming
✔ Colour matching and paint application
✔ Automotive refinishing techniques
✔ Working in a professional paint shop environment
We’re looking for someone who has:
✔ A genuine interest in cars and automotive painting
✔ A strong work ethic and positive attitude
✔ Reliable transport to get to and from work
✔ A current driver’s licence, or is working towards getting one
✔ Good attention to detail
✔ A willingness to learn and follow instructions
✔Previous painting, prep, sanding, masking or refinishing experience is preferred, but not essential.
At McCarthy Panel Works, you’ll have access to hands-on training, I-CAR training, Electric Vehicle training, and the opportunity to work within an I-CAR Australia Gold Class repair facility.
We are also proud to be the only Tesla approved repairer in Mackay, giving our team exposure to modern vehicles, Tesla refinishing, and electric vehicle technology.
