Nhulunbuy BMX Club Nhulunbuy BMX Club Our club was formed in 1983 and has been going strong ever since. In 2016 we have about 70 riders competing on a regular basis. How do I join?

Gove or Nhulunbuy (same place) is located on the Gove Peninsula in the Northern Territory. It is approximately half way between Cairns and Darwin. Flying time from Cairns 1.5 hours and from Darwin 1.05 hours. There are approximately 2500 people living here enjoying the unique lifestyle that the area has to offer. The Track is located on the corner of Beagle Circuit and the Golf Club road. You can’

t miss it; we are always there making a noise and having fun! We race on Sunday night. The track opens at 4:00 PM with registration closing at 5:00 PM sharp. The track is open for warm-up during this time. The gate drops at 5:30 PM sharp. We race three motos, have a ten minute break with two more motos following. Full canteen facilities are available on race night. Come down to the track on Thursday training nights or Sunday race nights and see one of the members. In short, you will need a sturdy bike, long sleeve shirt, long pants, covered shoes and gloves. All members must also have a BMXA licence. 💜🚲 ODE TO THE BMX DAD 🚲💛

Here’s to the dads at the side of the track,
With tools in their pockets and sunscreen on their back.

They pump up the tyres and tighten the chain,
Then do it all over…and over again!

They carry the bikes, the helmets, the gear,
And somehow lose money on bike parts all year. 😂

They stand by the gate trying hard to stay cool,
Then yell “PEDAL! PEDAL!” like it’s their only rule!

They celebrate wins and PBs with pride,
And give the best hugs when things don’t go right.

They’re mechanics, chauffeurs and number-one fans,
With dirty shoes, empty wallets and very full hands!

So cheers to our BMX dads today,
For all that you do in your own special way.

A huge thank you to all of our amazing volunteers who gave up their Saturday and put in a mammoth effort for Day 1 of our working bee!

We are incredibly grateful for the time, hard work and support you have given our club. Many hands really do make light work, and today showed just how amazing our BMX community is. 🐊💪

We’re back at it tomorrow!
