Maffra’s Golden Roller

11/10/2026

Only a few weeks until she comes home to Riddells Creek for her Halloween run so make sure you get down to the Gippsland Vehicle Collection Inc. Before the 27th while she is in residence.

It's been a great pleasure having the roller in residence and we look forward to bringing her back down to the shire next year.

Whilst the roller is enjoying its stay at the Gippsland Vehicle Collection, we are busy planning its return home and next activities....

It will be steamed for transport in the final week of October, day to be confirmed, and then dressed up for Halloween on the 31st, to trundle around Riddells Creek and give the local kids (big and little) a bit of a thrill at the park in the early evening... some Haunting whistles and severed heads on the list of priorities....

We did plan to head to Lake GoldSmith Steam Rally, but with the ridiculous cost of diesel fuel at the moment, and a lack of time off, this will have to wait until next year....

Happy Fathers Day to all the Fathers out there but especially this legend.

Was a fantastic day and a great event to be part of. If you didn't make it down please go check out the Local Legends Exhibit running until late October.

A shortish timelapse of the punters moving through the re-opened Gippsland Vehicle Collection today. Shot from my go-pro, and the roof of the roller.
The battery ran out before we did the rollers birthday celebration, but not to worry. Another clip of that to follow soon.

See how many people you can spot that you know! 😉
Where’s Wally, Timelapse style. 😂
