Merewether Tyre & Mechanical is a growing mechanical business, located a stone’s throw away from Merewether Beach. Passionate about delivering mechanical solutions that are straight-forward, customer-focused, and of high workmanship, MTM is seeking an experienced a like-minded Motor Mechanic to join their team. The ideal applicant will be hardworking and reliable, with a commitment to safety and with an eye for detail.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
This role is responsible for performing light mechanical repairs, servicing, and carrying out inspections of our customer's vehicles. A typical day may include:
Conducting light mechanical diagnostic work and repairs on a wide range of vehicle makes and models
Completing vehicle inspection reports, ensuring completed work is recorded and recommendations are flagged and communicated to the team.
WHAT DO WE OFFER?
Hours – Every weekend is a long weekend
(Mon-Thurs 7:00-5:00 pm, Friday closed)
Remuneration – be paid at a competitive rate, higher than industry benchmarks

Location – 200 meters to the beach from our premises. Take a dip on your lunch break, go grab one of Newy’s best coffees, or just get some fresh air

Able to undertake physical activities and heavy lifting, in line with the duties of the role
Able to make sound decisions, based on accurate and timely analyses.
ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
Cert III Light Mechanical (or equivalent)
Current AIS Safety Inspection Certificate (preferred)
Current Drivers Licence
