This Mahindra XUV was driven to our Warners Bay store after the owner noticed a coolant leak. On the way to us, he had to keep topping up the coolant. As the correct coolant specification was difficult to find, a similar coolant had been used.

Because the vehicle was still under warranty, it was important to make sure the cooling system was restored to the correct factory specification coolant.

Our team:
✅ Replaced the leaking coolant hose
✅ Flushed the cooling system multiple times to remove the previous coolant
✅ Refilled the system with the manufacturer-specified coolant
✅ Checked the cooling system for proper operation

Using the right coolant for the right vehicle is important for protecting the cooling system and maintaining the manufacturer's requirements.

When life gets busy and you have to be everywhere to keep things moving, mistakes can happen. This is one of those moments where a simple mistake could have turned into a very expensive repair.

We had this Prado booked in for four new tyres and a service. The customer was running late because he had to stop and put fuel and AdBlue in the vehicle.

Unfortunately, in the rush, he accidentally put AdBlue into the fuel tank.

Luckily, he realised what had happened before he even left. He did not start the engine. Instead, he arranged for the vehicle to be towed to us.

That decision potentially saved the fuel system from much more serious damage.

We are now draining the contaminated fuel, cleaning the fuel system and fuel lines, replacing the fuel filter, four new yokohama tyres and getting the Prado ready to safely return to the road.

The best part? The family has a trip to Dubbo coming up, and we're doing everything we can to get them back on the road safely.

Choosing the Right Car for Your Driving Needs 🚗

Choosing the right car according to your driving needs is extremely important.

This customer bought this diesel vehicle only 3 months ago and was using it for around 20 km a day, mostly on short local trips. Unfortunately, that type of driving is not ideal for a modern diesel engine, which needs regular longer drives and good highway mileage to operate efficiently.

Frequent short trips can contribute to DPF and EGR blockage, excessive carbon buildup and increased stress on the engine and cooling system. If these issues are ignored, they can eventually lead to major and expensive engine problems, including potential head gasket failure.

Before buying a diesel, think about how you actually drive every day. 🚘

The right car isn't just about the price or appearance — it's about choosing a vehicle that suits your driving needs.

A Warners Bay mechanic is turning an unavoidable rego expense into a helping hand for people with disability.

Tyreplus Warners Bay owner Suman Poudel is donating the full $51 cost of every pink slip to disability charity Inala, giving motorists the chance to make a difference.

For Suman, the initiative is part of a wider commitment to giving back to the community that has supported his business.
