Wheel speed sensing at the wheel, not the driveshaft. Measure inboard and everything between the sensor and the tyre ends up in the measurement: the driveshaft winds up under braking load like the torsion spring it is, spline and diff lash get driven back and forth as the ABS cycles pressure, and the sensor gap moves with all of it. Wheel speed sensing needs that gap held inside a narrow band — vary it enough and the signal drops out, or returns a speed the system can't reconcile with the other three wheels. A motorsport ABS doesn't guess at that point: it declares a sensor fault, lights the lamp and takes itself offline, usually in the hardest braking of the day. Back in the paddock every sensor tests fine on a rolling wheel, because nothing is broken — the measuring point just moves. Our kits relocate the tone ring and sensor outboard: past the compliance, past the lash, gap fixed for the life of the car. Why some factories measured inboard anyway — and why that logic doesn't carry over to a modern four-channel system — is in the full write-up, link in bio.

The MM7.10 inertial sensor — standard in every ABS M5 kit. Six axes of vehicle motion: longitudinal, lateral and vertical acceleration, plus yaw, roll and pitch rates — all broadcast on CAN, for the logger or for an ECU running its own vehicle-dynamics functions. On the logging side they earn their keep quickly: roll rate reads what the platform actually did through a setup change, vertical acceleration catches kerb strikes and surface, and pitch rate covers the braking phase — how the car takes its nose-down set when you first hit the pedal, and how cleanly it recovers as you release into the corner, laid over brake pressure in the same log. Everything in a 909 R32 GT-R ABS kit, before it goes in the car. Bosch ABS M5 hydraulic unit, MM7.10 inertial sensor, four DF11 wheel-speed sensors, front and rear pressure sensors, 12-position map switch, mounting hardware and the loom to tie it together. Eleven selectable calibrations on the switch, changed from the cabin — wet circuit through to slicks. The pressure sensors give the system its front and rear brake pressure picture, and your logger gets the same channels. Rear wheel speed sensing relocates outboard — tone rings and machined hub mounts are in the kit — and the hydraulic unit mounts to suit your chosen location, with four in-car positions developed so far. Nothing in the kit is a universal bracket; it's all specified for the car it's going into. Swipe: the outboard rear tone ring on the car, the front sensor mount installed, and the map switch live on the dash — ABS map on the DDU. Kit details on the site — link in bio.
