⚓ THROWBACK THURSDAY | #01 — WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

We're going right back to the very beginning of Extreme Finishings.

This is Claudia, a beautiful little 12m wooden vessel at Maylands Boatyard — and the very first boat we worked on as Extreme Finishings.

We completed the paintwork using an Awlgrip system finished in Snow White, along with timber work throughout the vessel.

Looking back at these photos now brings back plenty of memories. This was the start of what has become years of boats, different projects, new challenges, great clients and a whole lot of experience along the way.

A lot has changed since Claudia, but the standard we expect from our work hasn't.

Every Thursday for a while, we're going to keep digging through the archives and sharing a little more of the Extreme Finishings journey — right from the beginning. ⚓

Paint Protection Western Australia, you've gone it again. My Toyota Prado 2026 Kakadu went in for PPF matte finish. You have exceeded my expectations. If you hadn't made the F150 stand out. Wow your right. The Prado takes the cake. With all the orange peel paint before. After applying the PPF, you can't see orange peel at all.

She's so sexy and she's fully protected.

Honestly couldn't be happier.

What a transformation on this AMF! 👌⚓
When she arrived at Finishings, the Nyalic was well overdue for attention and there was plenty of corrosion and deterioration to deal with.
We completely sanded and ground the vessel, cleaned up the corrosion, acid washed the aluminium and applied fresh Nyalic — inside and out.
And the results speak for themselves. ✨
The hull, transom, decks and gunwales came up beautifully, before Graphics added the finishing touches with the new decals and boat numbers.
From the condition she arrived in to watching her leave our workshop completely transformed — this is exactly why proper preparation makes such a difference.
Big thanks to Go Graphics for another great job on the graphics. 👌
