And this what I steered back home!
To be honest it was good to drive but obviously nothing like a good solid Aussie built coach!
Pros: heaps of power from the x12 Cummins made light work of the hills. Very responsive!
Sat on the road well, didn’t sway around.
Comfortable to drive and easy.
Con’s:
Very poor A/C! Could hard feel any air in the driver seat and the bottom cabin area struggled to cool whilst upstairs was nice!
A lot of blind spots due to the short screens
Very noisy! Engine and running gear noise and road noise was extremely loud!
Gearbox couldn’t decide what gear to be in when going down from 6th to 5th then eventually 4th and when it did it was very clunky and jerky!
Dash gauges obstructed by the steering wheel unless it was adjusted as far forward as it could go making the reach for the steering wheel hard especially when you are tall and have the seat back!
Not that it worried me but the hostess seat is very low to the ground so low that you aren’t far from the floor! For someone short(like my wife 😉😝) you can’t see over the dash!
Apart from all that it was ok, I just did around 500kms in it and was glad to get out at the end!
Give me the MCA or my Coach Design any day of the week!😉

Been a huge week here at Coachcare! 3 out the door in 1 week!
This Mercedes Sprinter had us working right to the last minute which is not unusual for our great friends at Wangarratta Coachlines!🤣
As usual our deadline was tight but once again our staff were up for the challenge and we made it happen!
We were handed a brand new empty van and were basically told to make it into a limo! So we did!
It was a tight fit but we managed to get 6 of the most luxurious Italian leather oversized Styleride seats in, a large luggage area in the back, tv, carpeted flooring, ambulance tint to all passenger glass and even a handy little driver’s console for the usual paperwork and stuff!
The original front double seat was modified and certified into a single seat as to make room for a fridge!
This job was a first for us at Coachcare and we hope it won’t be the last!
Thankyou Matt Joyce for trusting us to deliver such luxury for your company which we really enjoyed doing for you!👍

Here is the first Irizar I6 to hit the roads in Australia!
A 2013 Scania chassis 14.5m long!
She had certainly seen better days and was probably destined for the scrap yard if it hadn't had a new engine installed! (from what we were told by the then manager)
We were asked to completely gut the interior, remove the toilet to make way for more seating replace ceiling and wall panels, re trim luggage racks and paint everything that had vinyl covering it, this included the dash which had to be removed to paint it properly!
All the seats were re trimmed with Richies fleet design which was flown in from NZ, a new specially made audio system was installed which was also a product of NZ.
The flooring and trims were changed to be more in line with the way we build coaches here in Australia and the new fleet livery for Sid Foggs was painted on to bring it into line with the rest of the fleet!
There was quite a bit of body work to be done as well as interior repairs before we could start putting it back together which made this a much bigger job than first expected taking around 6 months to get her to what we see today and back on the road to carry passengers once again for the foreseeable future!

It’s been a while between posts and jobs here in our workshop! With staff shortages and new staff to train as well as supplier holdups we are slowly catching up on a backlog of work that has taken way longer than expected!
We thank our loyal customers for their patience during what has been a very hectic and annoying time for us here at Coachcare!
Here is the first of a few vehicles that we will post over the next week or so.
This Motorcoach Classic 3 came to us from Langley’s in Dubbo needing an exterior refurb to extend its life!
After removing windows and panels it was found to be in need of extensive rust repair in the framework! We replaced sections of the frame with new galvanised steel, applied a protective coating to the frame and fitted new fibreglass panels to both sides.
The windows were refitted and sealed and a new paint job applied!
She will now rejoin the Langleys fleet in their new livery alongside the other well preserved vehicles that Langley’s take pride in!
Thankyou Michael Langley for giving us the opportunity to refurbish this masterpiece of Aussie history and we hope we can help you out again in the future!

We are currently searching for a set of seatbelted bus seats. Must be 57pax!
Not worried about the brand but must be in good condition! Recline or not, armrests or not it doesn’t matter!
Let us know what you have or know of!
Cheers 😁👍🇦🇺

🗣️SMALL BUSINESS SHOUT OUT: COACHCARE 🚌🚍
Great to stop in to see David Bishop at Coachcare in Nambucca Heads last week to deliver a new flag for his business to fly out the front and have a chat about how things are going in these challenging times for small businesses across the country.

Coachcare is a Bus and Coach Refurbishment company that has gone from strength to strength since opening 9 years ago.

With plenty of work coming through the door from Sydney and locally, David’s fully equipped workshop is in high demand and he’s looking to train a larger team of locals to keep up!

A great business filling a need in the beautiful Nambucca Valley and adding to our local economy and employment opportunities.

Thanks for the chat, David. Great to hear your story and looking forward to celebrating 10 years in business next year.
