The History of Halls Tyres
Halls Tyre Service was originally established in 1972 by Ray Hall, a local from Murwillumbah, and was running at 10 Mayfield St, South Murwillumbah until 2015. Around 2010, Laurie and Sue Hall, Ray Hall’s nephew and his wife, took over Halls Tyres and eventually moved from #10 to #1 Mayfield Street. Ironically, Matt, a local business owner, who purchased 10 Mayfield Str
eet for one of his other businesses, and currently employs over 50 locals from Murbah and Tweed Shire, had the opportunity to purchase Halls, picking up the second distinct Continental Tyre orange coloured building in the street. Matt took over Halls in April 2022, and after spending 20 years running various other businesses, himself and Andrew, the new Halls manager, Michelle, Maria and the original Halls crew, are taking the business to new horizons, achieving a greater level of service to the wider Tweed area. Aiming to expand his team and employ even more local people from Murwillumbah and Tweed shire, as well as expand the mobile service out to the Gold Coast, Matt is committed to breathing a new lease of life into Halls, and as always, have the full range of stock on hand as Halls is the largest tyre centre in Murwillumbah. It is easy access no matter what time of day you come through, and fast, efficient, professional service. We take walk in customers, but for best results, call ahead and book in, or else use our new online booking form to reserve your time. Our extended opening hours mean you can fit your tyre service in around work as we’re open Mon-Fri 7am-5pm, and 7am-11am on Saturdays.
