Today 2 years ago our lives changed forever. We know that I was a very lucky boy that day and someone was looking after me from above but it completely changed our lives that’s for sure. For me I recovered as much as I can and just have to learn to except that I was in a horrifying car accident that most people wouldn’t have survived. Yes I will have to live with pain for the rest of my life and I can’t do certain things anymore but still I can’t complain too much. Mentally it has also changed us both that’s for sure. Material things don’t mean that much to us anymore. So does chasing money 💰. Yes you do need it for living but at the end of the day you can’t take it all with you. We just love being together and enjoy being with our 4 legged babies and enjoying time with our friends and family.

When I was working for Marion Toyota many moons ago I told my then workshop manager I was quitting and starting my own mechanical business. He said I will not last. Hmmm this month I’m celebrating 30 years of Country mobile Mechanic. Not a bad effort I will say. Over the years I have done plenty of interesting jobs that’s one thing for sure. And even that I’m getting older and some days my body goes like Mike what are you doing I reckon I have plenty more years in me to do this tough job. Looking forward what jobs I get the next 10 years. Thank you to all the customers over the years! And a big thanks to my lovely wife Marcella. Cheers

Right after being a mechanic for 42 years I never thought I had to do one of these jobs ever again!! Wonder how many young mechanics have ever done this. Most will run 😂😂. Brakes on a David Brown 995 so you only get the linings and rivets.

Never a dull moment with my job. I’m busy doing several jobs at the same time. The last few days I split a Kubota tractor with clutch problems, clutch was replaced not long ago by another mechanic. Found the problem that’s pretty sure. Then today I had to sort out a Austin Seven that didn’t run. Was standing for 8 years and several people worked on it but couldn’t get it running, a good hour later it was running and tuned. Hmm 🤔 I’m starting to get more and more of these kind of jobs. Wonder why? Yep you got it I’m old school and I got gray hairs. 😂😂

Getting Older!!! When I started my mechanical career back in 1981 about 80% of the tires I fitted were 145 R 12 or 155 R 13. I can remember that I fitted some super wide tires on my pimped out Toyota Starlet (that was completely white) and they were 175/40 R 13 and they looked cool. Now more then 42 years later I fitted some new tires on Marcella’s BMW X5. Guess the size? 315/35 R 20 . Damn that’s some serious rubber!!!
