Something new on the floor at MT Wheels.

We are now stocking MRT, an Australian owned and engineered range of ute trays, canopies and toolboxes. This 79 Series is the demo vehicle and it shows what the gear looks like once it is all bolted together.

Full tray and canopy, roof top tent up top, REDARC power management inside, and the whole thing built to be lived out of rather than just looked at.

If a tray or a canopy has been on your mind, come and have a look at it in person. A lot easier than scrolling photos.

The Mickey Madness Sale is on now at MT Wheels.

Mickey Thompson run this one through October only, so if a new set of tyres has been sitting on the to do list, this is the month to get it sorted.

Not every day you get an XA GT sitting in the workshop.

We love the 4x4 work, but we have just as much time for the classics. Old Aussie iron deserves to be looked after properly, and getting the right wheel and tyre on one of these is half the character of the car.

Have a look at the board on the wall while you are here. Tyres, 4x4 equipment and accessories, wheel alignment, mags, suspension, batteries. It is all under the one roof, which is the whole point.

This is what it is all for.

Raptor sitting out in the pines, mud terrains doing their job, nobody around. That is a Friday feeling if ever there was one.

We get plenty of satisfaction out of setting a vehicle up properly and then seeing where people take it. The Limestone Coast has some of the best country in the state within an hour of town, and it is a lot more fun when you trust what is under you.

Heading out this weekend? Make sure your tyres and pressures are right before you go, and give us a yell if you want them checked. Tyre safety checks are free.

Polished KMC beadlock style wheel, Toyo Open Country M/T wrapped around it. That is a proper setup.

Toyo M/T is one of those tyres that has earned its reputation the hard way. Aggressive tread, tough carcass, and it keeps going long after cheaper rubber has given up. If you spend real time on gravel, mud or rock, it is worth the money.

We can get you into a set and make sure the wheel and tyre combination actually works together, not just looks good in the carpark.

Fitment is everything.

This is the bit that separates a set of wheels that looks right from a set that just looks big. Correct offset, correct diameter, correct load rating, and suddenly the whole vehicle sits properly and drives like it should.

Get it wrong and you are looking at rubbing on full lock, upset steering feel, early bearing wear and sometimes a problem at rego time. It is not worth the risk on a guess.

Bring your vehicle in and we will work it out properly.

Lifted, sitting on beadlock style alloys and wrapped in serious mud terrain rubber. The sort of build that gets a second look in the car park and still does the job when the bitumen runs out.

Thirty five years in the tyre trade, and Marijan still gets excited about a fresh set landing in the shop.

That is Mickey Thompson rubber there, and if you have not run a set before, ask him about them. He will tell you straight whether they suit what you actually do with your vehicle or whether something else is the smarter buy. No sales pitch, just the honest answer.

That is the difference with a local shop. Marijan and Cathy own it, they live here, and they have to look you in the eye at the shops afterwards.

Busy morning in the workshop. Two Landcruisers up, one getting front suspension work and the other in for a look over.

Suspension is the one people put off, and it is the one that changes a 4x4 the most. Worn shocks and tired springs mean a vehicle that wallows, sits low under load and chews the inside of your tyres. Sort the suspension and everything else works better, including your new tyres.

If yours is feeling soft, floating over bumps or sagging with the camper on the back, come and have a chat.
