Another Hay Mini Nationals is officially done and dusted, and what a fantastic event it was!
Congratulations to all the contestants and especially to
Cooper Ellis who won Hay’s Heroes and was the Outright winner of the Motorkhana.

In an exciting result Mini Car Club of NSW and Hot Bricks were tied for 1st Place for the GBS trophy.

It was a 1500km round trip for us and we are home. My Mini is safely back in the garage with another trophy and waiting to have the Hay dust cleaned off it in the next few days.

From the people and the fabulous Minis to the atmosphere and the memories, it was worth the long drive.

A huge Thankyou to all the organisers and volunteers who put in the hours of work behind the scenes. The event is a credit to you all.

The Winter 2026 edition of the Mini Club’s East West magazine is being printed today and hopefully in the post by the end of this week.

Open to financial Mini Car Club of NSW members. The Club Motorkhana grounds are on the banks of the Colo River, 370 Lower Colo Road, Lower Portland

Gates open 8am
Drivers briefing 9.30am
Events start 10am

Sausage sizzle and drink available for $5

Also, for those of you that may not be aware Motorsport Australia has introduced a Single Event Licence please see information below.
The good news is if you buy one of these and then decide that you should have purchased an Annual Speed Licence they will credit your $45 to the Annual Licence

Sunday 3rd May 2026 was our Club’s monthly outing for members.
Sunshine and country roads were the order of the day as our convoy travelled through the empty streets of Western Sydney industrial areas before the quite country roads through farms and onto our first stop at Warragamba Dam lookout and visitor information centre.
By now we had picked up all of our participants with 11 Classic Minis, 1 new MINI, 1 x SLR5000 tribute and a couple of other cars who travelled along a very quiet Silverdale road and our BBQ destination at Burragorang Lookout and picnic area.
A great drive and a great day. For me it was 125km each way in my Cooper S which ran faultless.

Our Club’s next outings will be on 17th May when we have a Club Motorkhana. There is also the National Motoring Heritage day when we are all asked to get our historic cars out for the day or there is a opportunity to display your Mini at Wings over Shell Harbour.
