An actual Bumblebee edition Camaro parked up beside the Beetle this morning at the Coolum Cars and Coffee stoked! Every car park of each business centre was packed up and down the road. The variety of cars is just massive at these events. Lots of interest in the Beetle for sale today!

FOR SALE! Electrical banana, they call it Mellow Yellow! This machine is anything but mellow, it's bright, and it's fast! This 1974 Super Beetle has been restored in 2020 by the previous owner and converted to EV by the current owner using one of Traction EV's premium conversion kits. It has the epic NetGain HyPer 9 motor delivering 130hp and 171Lbs/ft torque. Battery is 26kWh of liquid cooled Tesla modules giving +150km range. The Beetle is currently on NSW registration and has been Engineer certified in NSW and in QLD. The Beetle is now located in QLD with Traction EV for viewing. While the 1972 BMW 2002 is off for panel and paint, we've been working on the battery boxes. This is the front unit which sits in the engine bay. It has its own service isolator, fuse, safety vent, thermistors, BMS cell taps and liquid cooling loops. This box design has gone through FEA to ensure it meets the requirements of engineering certification here in Australia. Cars and Coffee at Cafe Elle Brisbane delivering the goods! What a turn out. Hundreds of cars filled every available space filling out to the streets. The variety at Brisbane meets is incredible. We brought 2 EV Beetles to the meet and our friend and customer brought his wicked EV Baja Beetle Ute. We spoke with lots of people about EV swaps and there's definitely growing interest and always positive responses the EV swaps.

Getting parts from CAD to beautifully cut and folded pieces is like Christmas! Now we only have the iBooster to mount to the BMW 2002 and it's ready for paint. Tesla Model S SDU is mounted as are the 2 battery boxes which hold 42.5kWh in the engine bay and transmission tunnel. Battery is monitoring is via Orion2 BMS. The Tesla SDU is controlled with the AEM inverter board and VCU. 6.6kW OBC and Fellten CCS2 charging.

Met up with our friends and customers Dave and his wife Andrea at the Coorparoo Cars and Coffee. Dave and Andrea brought their amazing electric HyPer 9 powered VW Baja Beetle Ute and it was a huge crowd pleaser. It was over heard many times that morning "wow this Baja is amazing, oh look and it's electric!" A testament to Dave's hard work and Andrea's support. The Baja is so unique with so much fine custom work. Not only that, but the Baja is built tough and made to be used off-road and is completely water sealed so that it can be driven hard and also washed down properly. So many unique cars at the meet, there really is something for everyone's tastes. For a great video of the turnout, check out on YouTube.
