Saturday night was a very special night for the Eastey Fire Trucks team as our Austin Series 3 front-mounted pumper returned to Whittlesea Fire Brigade, the brigade where this magnificent old appliance proudly served for approximately nine years.
The Austin was back on familiar ground to take part in Whittlesea Fire Brigade’s Centenary celebrations and Torchlight Parade.
We were absolutely honoured to have been invited to be part of such a significant occasion, but even more excited when we were asked if the Austin could lead the Torchlight Parade.
For an old fire truck returning to Whittlesea after so many years, there was something incredibly special about seeing the Austin once again travelling the streets of Whittlesea, this time leading the brigade’s Centenary celebrations.
From all of us at Eastey Fire Trucks, congratulations to Whittlesea Fire Brigade on reaching this incredible milestone and on 100 years of service to your community.
While the celebrations were happening in Whittlesea, another very special celebration was taking place in the hills.
The Eastey Fire Trucks team were also honoured to attend Menzies Creek Fire Brigade’s 80th Anniversary celebrations, proudly taking along our International Acco 610A to be part of the occasion.
It was a wonderful evening, with plenty of stories, memories and friendship shared as the brigade celebrated 80 years of service to the Menzies Creek community.
A special thank you also goes to Bendigo Bank for their generous donation to Menzies Creek Fire Brigade. Support like this makes such a difference to local volunteer brigades and the communities they serve.
From all of us at Eastey Fire Trucks, congratulations to Menzies Creek Fire Brigade on 80 years of service.
