This immaculate HSV Clubsport R8 stopped by HP Automotive, Mona Vale for its annual service.

With just 10,500km on the clock since new in 2015, this LS3-powered Australian icon is a true credit to its owner. Low-kilometre, unmodified examples like this are becoming harder to find, and it’s easy to see why they’re considered modern Australian classics.

After a busy few weeks in the workshop, Hugh finally found a spare minute to step back and admire this stunning Aston Martin Vantage that he was fortunate enough to work on this week, in for a few minor repairs.

It’s been a huge few weeks at HP Automotive, with everything from fleet vehicles and work utes through to performance cars and prestige vehicles rolling through the workshop. The variety is one of the things we love most about what we do—no two days are ever the same.

You might have noticed this 1956 Chevrolet 210 Del Ray Post Coupe sitting around the workshop over the past few weeks…

We’ve had the pleasure of getting this incredible classic ready for sale on behalf of a long-time friend of the HP Automotive family, and it’s certainly one that’s hard to walk past.

Originally imported from Texas, USA, this genuine 1956 Chevrolet 210 Del Ray has been thoughtfully built into an outstanding street machine. Under the bonnet sits a Chevrolet Performance 502ci Big Block, breathing through the iconic Triple Demon “Triple Deuce” carburettor setup, paired with a Tremec 5-speed manual transmission. Add Heidts tubular front suspension, adjustable coil-overs, power steering and four-wheel disc brakes, and you’ve got a classic that drives every bit as good as it looks.

Finished in timeless Black and White with Boyd Coddington wheels, good chrome, a tidy Del Ray interior, power windows and an upgraded stereo system, it’s a beautifully sorted cruiser that’s guaranteed to turn heads wherever it goes.

HP Automotive is looking for an experienced Senior Automotive Technician to join our growing team in Mona Vale.

We're seeking a qualified mechanic with strong diagnostic and repair experience, particularly with European vehicles, and who is confident working across all makes and models, including 4WDs.

This role is ideal for a well-rounded technician who enjoys fault-finding, repairs and problem-solving, while also helping guide and mentor our apprentices and junior staff. You'll be working on a wide variety of vehicles, from late-model European cars and family vehicles through to touring 4WDs and light commercial fleets.

The role includes:

- Diagnostics and fault-finding
- General repairs and maintenance
- European vehicle repairs
- 4WD and touring vehicle upgrades and repairs
- Electrical and drivability diagnostics
- Mentoring apprentices and junior staff
- Servicing and routine maintenance

A huge thank you to all our customers — both long-time supporters and the many new faces we’ve welcomed this year. We genuinely appreciate every service, every referral, and the trust you continue to place in our team here at HP Automotive.

As we head into our final week of the year, a quick update:

🎄 Christmas Closure
We will be closed from Friday 19 December, returning Tuesday 6 January.
(Our last working day is Thursday 18 December.)

A huge thank you to all our customers — both long-time supporters and the many new faces we’ve welcomed this year. We also want to acknowledge our suppliers and, of course, our incredible HP Automotive team, who have worked tirelessly to make 2025 such a strong year in the workshop.

With next week being our final week of the year, December servicing is fully booked. We still have limited availability for standard registration inspections (sorry, no Blue Slip inspections remaining).

Our team will be wrapping up for a well-deserved break on 18th December, and we’ll be back on deck for all your mechanical needs from Tuesday, 6th January.

January bookings are already filling up.
If you’re taking time off with the kids or planning a summer road trip, make sure you get in early — especially if you’re heading away over the Australia Day long weekend.
