2025 Highlight (so far)
Mitchell and his family headed to Phillip Island, Victoria, last week for him to compete in the ASBK - Australian Superbike Championship ๐
This has been a dream of Mitchell's and it has now come to fruition. After completing his first full race season in 2024 and being awarded, WA Best Performance - First Year Solo 2024, he was coached and supported by experienced riders and competitors, and encouraged to make the trek to compete in his first national championship.
Mitchell loaded up the bikes and gear, set them off by road, and then jumped on a plane with his family. Mitchell had never set foot on this world renowned track prior to his first practice session, but after a few laps his nerves settled enough to prepare for qualifying. After completing a successful qualifying lap, he then prepared himself for the next couple of days of intense racing.
The track was warm and windy, which created its own set of challenges, Mitchell was on grid alongside some very esteemed competitors and he successfully completed 3 of the fastest races he has ever had the opportunity to do ๐
The goals were
1. To qualify โ๏ธ
2. To stay on his bike โ๏ธ
3. To have fun โ๏ธ
... he successfully completed all 3! It was a full on, fast paced, exhilarating and exhausting weekend - but we wouldn't have missed it for the world!
A massive thank you to everyone who supported us to make this dream become a real life achievement!
ยค Our amazing team at Campbell Road Automotive & Motorcycles - knowing our business is in the most capable hands in our absence gives us the ability to focus.
ยค Our awesome pit crew that kept the wheels moving and the jokes alive and supporting us with looking after our little guy at the track.
ยค Our family for the loving and unwavering support.
ยค Adam & Anike Senior for all of the encouragement and assistance with planning, getting Mitchell's gear to the track and for all of the coaching to both Mitchell & JD on what to expect and how to figure out the ropes.
We had an amazing time and look forward to having the opportunity to do it all again ๐
Mitchell encourages anyone with the interest to ride on track, whether it be to compete or for leisure, to make contact with him - there are some great opportunities coming up with Champion's Ride Days. A ride day is the perfect opportunity to take your bike to the track to ride at your own pace in a safe and controlled environment. Ride Days are not race or practice days, they are leisure days. With graded groups and plenty of safety measures this kind of event is the best way to test the limits of your bike without speed cameras, trucks, cars or pedestrians and we hope to see you there! ๐
