Sometimes you need to call in the OG 💪🏼

With John taking a well earned couple of weeks off before harvest, the boys have been keeping things rolling. Today, one stubborn job needed a few extra tricks, so Jason jumped in to share a bit of know how. 🛞🫶🏼🤓

Turns out Jason’s still got a few moves up his sleeve 😉😂

The boys took it from there and finished the job. That’s the beauty of having years of hands-on experience to pass on - you don’t find that just anywhere.🤝🤝💪🙌🏼

Big jobs, little jobs and those bloody stubborn split rims - there’s always someone ready with the experience to jump on the tools and get it sorted. 🔧😉🙌🏼💪🛞

The A-Team is here today! 🙌

We’ve got both our fuel technician and point of sale technician on site to tackle the glitches that have been keeping us on our toes.

There may be a few stops and starts while they work, so if things feel a little hectic in the shop today, please hang with us. We know it’s been a long week, and we’re so grateful for your patience. 🫶🏼

Fingers crossed there’s a little rainbow waiting for us at the end of today! 🌈🥂🤞🏼

🛞 School holidays start tonight - and it’s lovely to see the caravans, boats and visitors beginning to roll back onto our beautiful Yorke Peninsula. ❤️❤️🎣🌊

Unfortunately, we’re also starting to see a few travellers caught out by tyre problems. 😬

The first photo is from a large boat trailer. The tyre hadn’t worn out - it had aged out. Trailer tyres can spend long periods sitting still and exposed to the weather, so they may still have tread remaining while the rubber itself has deteriorated. 🙁

The second photo shows the progression from a new passenger tyre, which generally starts with around 8–9 mm of tread, through to tyres that are well past replacement. The legal minimum is 1.5 mm, but tread depth is only one part of the picture.

Before heading away, remember to check:

✅ Tread depth
✅ Tyre pressures
✅ Age, cracking or bulges
✅ Caravan, boat and trailer tyres
✅ The spare tyre too!

“Have you done something different in here?”😳🤔

We’ve had a few people walk in this week with that have you had a haircut? look. Is it a new counter? Does the shop look bigger? Do we have new owners? And of course - about bloody time that screen is gone!!😂🫣

Thank you to everyone who’s been so patient while we learn our way around it. Those who’ve been in have seen a few glitches, a few technical wtf and the occasional blank stare from us as we figure out which button does what! 🤓🤓

Some things we can not control and our install got a little sidetracked. The professionals are coming back next week to help iron out the glitches and bring us back to our “A” team selves! 💪💪🙌🏼

Even with the hiccups, we can already see how much easier some things will be once we’ve got the hang of it. We’re excited to see it all come together. Well, I’m sure excited!! 😜

It’s been a bumpy start, but we’ll get there. Thanks for sticking with us while we do. 🫶🏼

A huge thank you to everyone who was so patient with us today! 🫶

And a special thank you to the concerned customers who rang to check that nothing terrible had happened - apparently seeing the servo completely shut down caused a little alarm, because that never happens! 😜🫶🏼

Training will continue throughout the week, so if you’re met with a few blank faces, deep breaths or frantic button-pushing, please bear with us - we’ll get there! It’s all very new, and we’re ironing out the little bugs as we go. 🤝

A quick note for our account customers: if you haven’t completed the new account form yet, you won’t be in our new system. We’re working hard to get everyone added, so returning your form will help make the process much quicker and easier for us - and we’d greatly appreciate it. ❤️

Tomorrow is a new day, with plenty more new processes to learn. We survived day one - bring on day two! 🙌💪

Tomorrow, September 22, is the big installation day! 🙌🏼🙌🏼

Before we move forward, we’d like to take a moment to thank our old point-of-sale system. She has served us well for more than 20 years and will be remembered fondly - but it’s time to embrace something new, shiny and considerably smarter! 🤝⭐️

For the first time since COVID, the big screen is also coming down. It really does feel like the beginning of a fresh new chapter at Minlaton Auto Centre.🫶🏼

It was incredibly reassuring to have Jack - our installer - spend half an hour talking everything through with me, confirming that we’re on the right track and explaining just how much time this new system should save us. 🤞🏼🤞🏼

Jason will be okay and my anxiety levels will hopefully settle once tomorrow is done!✅

We’re hoping to keep disruption to an absolute minimum tomorrow, but some things may be beyond our control while everything is installed. Install will begin at 9am and we aim to keep disruption to a minimum. The OPT may be in use a bit tomorrow as well, but we will keep you all as informed as we can. Please be patient with us as we learn our way around. 🫶🏼

There may be a few deep breaths, blank stares and frantic button-pushing - but good things are coming! 👏👏👏 Rhani x

There’s been plenty of sympathy for Jason as we prepare for our new point-of-sale system…but who is checking on me? 😂

I’ve somehow become the world’s least-qualified programmer and have already managed to delete the number 1 from the screen. I’m assuming they can put that back. 🤞

A little reminder that our new system will be installed on 22 and 23 September. We’re hoping for minimal disruption, but please bear with us while we find our feet.🫶🏼

I may be getting slightly twitchy, but I’m still convinced it’s going to be very, very cool - and a great improvement once we’re up and running! 🤞🏼🤞🏼🤞🏼

We’re incredibly proud to donate $500 from our can recycling money to the Yorketown CFS Cadets .👏👏

Meeting every Wednesday night during the school term, this fantastic program helps educate and inspire our up-and-coming community leaders and future emergency responders.

It’s an incredibly worthwhile cause, and we’re proud to play a small part in supporting these young people as they learn valuable skills, build confidence and continue their journey with the CFS.

Look at those happy faces!! They are busy fundraising to buy equipment to help with their training and are holding a sausage sizzle on the long weekend at Yorketown if you would like to support them!! 😀😀
