The Mitsubishi 4x4 Club recently held a camp cook weekend at Allawah Scout Camp, bringing club members together for a relaxed weekend of camping, cooking and socialising.
Members arrived at camp throughout the day, setting up their vehicles, tents and camping areas before settling in for the weekend. The campsite provided an ideal base for the group, with plenty of room for the vehicles and camping equipment, as well as a great setting to enjoy the weekend away from the usual routine.
A big thanks to our fire masters Brad and James who ensured hot coals were available for all 16 camp ovens which was no easy feat given that it was such a hot day. Members had the opportunity to demonstrate their cooking skills and try out a variety of meals prepared in the traditional camping style. From hearty meals cooked over the fire to camp oven creations and shared dishes, there was plenty of good food to go around. The cooking also provided plenty of opportunity for members to swap recipes, cooking tips and stories around the campfire.
Bragging rights for best Mains:
The best Roast went to Julie, Pizza went to Marco, Potjie went to Jaco & Yolandi and the Pumpkin Curry to Erica.

Throughout the weekend, members enjoyed catching up with old friends and getting to know newer club members. The relaxed atmosphere made it a great opportunity for everyone to socialise, with plenty of conversation, laughs and stories shared around the campsite.
Evenings were spent around the campfire, enjoying good company and reflecting on the day's activities. The campfire atmosphere was a highlight of the weekend, providing the perfect place to unwind after dinner and enjoy the camaraderie that makes club weekends so enjoyable.
Sunday was spent enjoying a relaxed breakfast, packing up camp and making sure the campsite was left clean and tidy. Members gradually headed home after another enjoyable club weekend.
Overall, the Mitsubishi 4x4 Club Camp Cook Weekend at Allawah Scout Camp was a great success. It was a weekend focused less on challenging four-wheel driving and more on the social side of the club — enjoying camping, cooking, sharing knowledge and spending time together.
A big thank you goes to everyone who attended, contributed food, helped with the cooking and assisted with setting up and packing down. Weekends like this are a great reminder that the Mitsubishi 4x4 Club is about more than just the vehicles — it is about the friendships, experiences and community built around them.
