Experts 2026
Our first mechanical withdrawal... Alternator failure.
Back on pacenotes again and loved it..
Jade jumped in the silly seat and was faultless all-day..
We had alot of improvement on our pace in the corolla in this event and was feeling really comfortable. Unfortunately the alternator had different ideas on what was fun and decided it wanted an early knockoff. We withdrew at first service and recharged the battery from the Hilux and chucked the deep cycle from the hilux into the toolbar holder in the corolla boot to power the spotlights for the last two runs of the Motorplex.
Cracker of a day even though we had our first mechanical withdrawal.

Forest rally 2026...... From a rally I wasn't going to do this year to one of my favorites I've done in the corolla.
Was great having Jade White with me and we had a great time. Started off nice and safe and slow and finished nice and strong. This rally every year for me is just about getting the car through to the finish line.
Ended up with second in clubman cup.
Huge thanks to jades family, the whites, for their hospitality and organisation and service.

Round 1 of 2026 rallywa season complete.
Mission objective- go into the bush and have a bunch of fun in a 56yr old corolla..... mission accomplished.
With a bonus 3rd place in clubby field. My main take away from this round was the 9 car clubby field.... how good.
Also such a fantastic mix of cars competing.
The roads to me were a real mixed bag... from super slippery to super grippy and back again. From super smooth to some rough rocky bits. From wide flowing roads to very narrow almost bush tracks... but at the end of the day that for me is what makes rally truly enjoyable, the ability to adapt on the fly.
Thanks again to my awesome co-driver Jade White for jumping in and her fake laughs at my truly terrible jokes and twisted sense of humour, it is really appreciated and just makes the day that much more enjoyable(no one mention how much she aged throughout the day to prize giving).

2nd place overall in comp class at Woodstock Offroad Challenge .... that was unexpected for our first ever comp... huge thanks to Teena Cordwell and Dominic Whalen for trusting us to pilot the mighty vitara..... thanks everyone for an awesome weekend.

So I had the opportunity with many thanks to Teena Cordwell and Dominic Whalen To compete in Woodstock Offroad Challenge with my brother Wayne Champion stepping up(literally) to navi. What an absolutely awesome weekend. No idea how we placed yet but we did complete every test without any penalties.
