The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage 🤘

‘63 11 Window - final stages of paint prep in full swing. Exterior now in 2K primer and commencing block sanding down flat. Interior colour nearing completion with the rear cargo area coloured out nicely and just the front cab remaining. Gearbox freshly rebuilt blown apart and coated for that special touch finish.

‘63 Single Cab - remaining items being ticked off and coming along well. Out doing some driveway rolling testing under its own power. Some bracket fabrication to mount the air-conditioner switches. Ready for some road shakedown test testing next week.

‘56 Oval Window - metal works nearing completion and starting to look spotless. Hanging and bolt on panels ready to be removed and sent away for Blasting in readiness for paint prep works.

‘74 Baywindow - original OEM wheels completely prepped and coloured out this week. Ready for new tyres and bolting on to the vehicle. Dashboard panel repaired, and unneeded holes building. Touchscreen stereo unit welded into place to accommodate the unit.

‘74 Baywindow - Rod Penrose racing engine bolted in place and the final jigsaw puzzle pieces coming together. Brakes being bled up and some final wiring finishing touches left to do inside.

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage 🤘

‘63 11 Window - final stages of paint prep in full swing. Exterior now in 2K primer and commencing block sanding down flat. Interior colour nearing completion with the rear cargo area coloured out nicely and just the front cab remaining. Gearbox freshly rebuilt blown apart and coated for that special touch finish.

The ‘59 15 Window Automatic that was @ Dubsmith Garage 🥹

Well this resto was an absolute milestone in our history! Mind-blowing amount of metal works, automatic transmission setup incorporated along the way, stunning top to bottom paint works, interior to drool over, and mechanicals to top it all off.

A huge effort by all involved to make this happen! Aaron’s Speed Shift Autos and Natoli Motors coming together to get this stunner moving along the road like a dream, CDY Motor Trimming for the stunning interior and the Dubsmith Garage crew really pulling out all stops on this one 👏🏻👏🏻

The ‘59 15 Window Automatic that was @ Dubsmith Garage 🥹

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage ✌️

‘59 15 Window Automatic - Final week in our care and plenty being ticked off. Final detail next week before photographing. This has been one huge resto 🤯

‘63 11 Window - Colour being laid down and starting to come to life. Exterior final blocking of polyester nearing completion and looking arrow straight. 2K primer session coming up next week in readiness for exterior colour. Wheels painted and looking a damn treat. Fresh rubber fitted up and ready to store away until fitout.

‘56 Oval Beetle - Metal works coming along fantastic. Brand-new engine lid installed and gapping up quite nice. Rear valance coming along nicely and close to welding off next week with a few few deletes of sheet metal openings that are no longer needed.

‘74 Baywindow - Fuel tank, filler neck, and top opening all installed and plumbed in to place. Not a lot left to tick off on this thing before the engine goes in next week.

‘63 Beetle - Some fresh shoes installed onto rims and get it close to being back on the ground to finalise the right height and suspension Setup

‘74 Baywindow - Plenty of wiring still been ticked off. The original – ready to go into metal Works and prepped for the touchscreen stereo head unit to be installed once painted.

‘70 Lowlight - Had this beauty in this week that we restored many years ago to take over its service scheduling. Engine oils, valve clearances, timing and ignition all reset. Carby linkages attended to, road tested and driving a real charm. So awesome to see this thing still looking stunning.

The week that was @ Dubsmith Garage 🤘

‘59 15 Window Automatic - Final road testing and shakedown in full swing. Transmission and engine servicing done. Some interior tweaks and then ready for the final buff and detail.

‘63 Single Cab - Air con installation all complete and operating flawlessly. Tested onsite today and gassed ready to operate. OEM style spare wheel mount to be installed in treasure chest area behind the air con assembly. Super tight but we made it fit✌️

‘63 Beetle - Disc brake front end done and dusted. Dropped spindles and plenty more mechanical items to replace tick off.

‘63 11 Window - Final exterior block works underway and coming along arrow straight. Wheels painted and looking a treat. Colour next week on the interior. Engine bay looking sharp and clean.

‘74 Baywindow - Sliding windows installed and staring to tick off the final boxes. Engine ready to bolt in place and start the final wiring puzzle! Dash painted and looking stunning and ready for the audio unit to be installed.

‘56 Oval Beetle - Front end works mostly complete. Now to trial fit the radiator and get it setup for the rotary engine install and water pipes plumbing.

‘65 Beetle - Metal works galore!!!!! Plenty of structural items being ticked off. Lower A pillar rot being replaced with new metal. Plenty left to go but ticking boxes.

‘74 Baywindow - A fresh coat of wax over Big Red and some fresh white paint on bumpers and roof and it’s looking a totally different. The owner loves driving the pants off it! PPG Refinish ANZ PPG Refinish USA & Canada PPG Volkswagen Australia Volkswagen
