About This Product
Banks are bringing forced air cooling to the RAM 68RFE transmission. Using technology from Their patented differential covers, the Banks Ram-Air Transmission Pan cools quicker than stock and all competitors. This extends fluid life. An additional three quarts of capacity, a break-away Ram-Air scoop, and Banks FlowThru® Fins aid in cooling. Cooler fluid means a longer-lasting bearings and clutch packs. The design is so innovative, it was awarded a U.S. patent.

The Banks Ram Air Transmission Pan for 2007.5-2024 RAM trucks with the 68RFE transmission outperforms and outcools the competition by leveraging decades of Ram-Air technology and thermal management expertise honed in racing and military engine development.

Forced Air Cooling
Taking advantage of the fast-moving cool air under your truck, the Ram-Air Transmission Pans' Patented design provides forced air cooling as it draws ambient air through the large forward-facing scoop and through the external heat radiation fins.

Unlike competitive designs where the metal of the pan hangs the lowest, the Ram-Air Transmission Pan is engineered so that the lowest point is only the sacrificial front scoop while still providing 2.8 additional Litres of fluid capacity.

The plastic scoop is also designed to break away without causing damage to your pan, just in case. If this happens to you, let Banks know and they will send a replacement Ram-Air scoop on the house.

Banks vs Stock
The stock 68RFE pan is shallow and made from stamped steel which has no internal or external fins to assist in removing heat from the fluid inside.

Without additional means to cool the fluid, it quickly becomes heat soaked with no way to radiate the additional heat load.
With an additional 2.8 Litres fill capacity and a massive increase in internal and external surface area, transmission heat is efficiently rejected through the casting and back to the cool ambient air under the truck.

Die-Cast vs Sand-Cast
All Banks lubrication cooling products are die-cast, not sand-cast like some competitors. Made with far greater precision, a die-cast part is denser, smoother, and has virtually no porosity compared to the equivalent sand-cast part.

Sand-cast parts often retain the sand they were molded with. Sand is an abrasive material that is bad for bearings and cylinder walls. In other words, you don’t want sand in your oil. Finally, our long, thin cooling fins are only possible with a die-cast process. Although this process costs more, it's worth it.

Heavy-Duty Cast Aluminium Transmission Pan - Deep
Excessive heat kills transmission life. As temperature rises, transmission fluid viscosity decreases, weakening the lubricating film that protects gears and bearings. This could cause premature wear and potential failure.

Cast from high-grade A356.0-T6 aluminium alloy, the PPE transmission pan offers 2 quarts of additional fluid capacity, ensuring long-lasting heat management and performance.

The deep external cooling fins maximize the heat-wicking surface area, effectively dissipating heat to keep your transmission cool under pressure. These fins also add strength to the bottom of the pan and enhance impact resistance.

The built-in baffles at the bottom of the pan increase contact between the fluid and the cast-aluminium surfaces, enhancing heat transfer. These baffles also reduce fluid sloshing, ensuring consistent fluid pickup and stable transmission performance. Together with the longitudinal external fins, they form a stiff, cross-bracing structure, distributing loads better and increasing impact resistance.

The factory plastic pan and its non-replaceable filter must be discarded with every fluid change. In contrast, a replaceable filter bolts directly inside the PPE pan, making fluid services easier and more cost effective. The PPE drain plug is equipped with a powerful, high-temperature-rated neodymium magnet that captures ferrous metal particles, providing additional protection for your transmission.

Excessive heat can degrade the protective qualities of differential fluid, leading to accelerated wear of gears and bearings. In limited-slip differentials, constant high temperatures can break down clutch packs and friction modifiers, resulting in reduced efficiency and compromised traction control.

Cast from high-grade A356.0-T6 aluminium alloy, the PPE differential cover adds .5 quart of fluid capacity and features half-inch external cooling fins for long-lasting heat management and performance.

Built-in windage scrapers inside the PPE cover ensure precise fluid distribution around the gears. By reducing excessive fluid churning, these scrapers lower heat build-up and minimize parasitic loss, promoting more efficient power transfer. Together with the vertical external fins, they form a strong cross-bracing structure that improves load distribution and enhances impact resistance.

The fill plug is precisely positioned at the factory level. Both the fill and drain plugs feature a powerful, high-temperature-rated neodymium magnet that captures ferrous particles for added protection.

S&B devotes a huge amount of resources to engineer our intakes that allow your engine to run properly with stock calibration or enhanced tuning. This kit was designed to avoid check engine lights with it's properly mapped Mass Air Flow Sensor.

Kit replaces the factory fuel coolant pump mounting bracket and moves the pump away from the oil filter housing. This allows for the use of the bigger, better Oil Filters Like the PPE Deep Engine Oil Filter , an essential upgrade for the L5P, providing superior 5-micron filtration and more than double the filter media size.
Premium High-Efficiency Engine Oil Filter
The oil filter is your engine’s first line of defence against contaminants that degrade oil performance and reduce oil lifespan. Poor filter performance and the presence of oil contaminants can lead to premature wear and potential failure of engine internals. The OEM filter falls short, only offering 259 square inches of 25-micron filtration capability and using a weak leaf spring, reducing seal quality and allowing dirty oil to blow past the filter media.

PPE’s upgraded filter provides 522 square inches of filtration area, a 100% increase over the OEM filter. The specially engineered ultra-fine synthetic microfiber MicroPure XR® media achieves a 5-micron nominal rating. An integrated high-temperature rated neodymium magnet also allows the PPE filter to capture ferrous particles, preventing them from clogging the media, extending filter and oil life. The use of a heavy-duty coil spring ensures a secure seal between the media end cap and the base plate, eliminating dirty oil blow-by and maximizing filtration performance.

In contrast to competitors’ unsealed bypass valve, the PPE filter incorporates a steel-NBR poppet and a precision coil spring to ensure a proper seal and consistent performance. The PPE filter also features a heat-resistant silicone anti-drain back valve, retaining oil in the filter after the engine is turned off for superior protection against dry starts.

The PPE filter’s heavy-duty construction, consisting of a high-strength steel base plate with increased thread engagement and large oil passages as well as a durable metal centre tube for rigid media support and pressure resistance, allow for maximum confidence in all conditions. An integrated pleat-locking spiral bead of adhesive keeps filter media pleats secured and evenly spaced for consistent filtration performance. Additionally, PPE’s TorqSTOP™ Technology prevents over-tightening and reinforces the rubber gasket, enabling a burst pressure rating of 450PSI.From 2020 to 2023, the GM 6.6L Duramax utilized the PF26 oil filter.
In 2024, the Duramax transitioned to the PF63 oil filter, which features larger passage holes for improved flow but is the same filter used for the 5.3L Small Block, possessing smaller filtration media and getting clogged easier

Intake Manifold and Turbo Inlet Kit
The stock cast aluminium intake bridge manifold on the Ford 6.7L Power Stroke is a well-known performance bottleneck. Certain design characteristics of the stock manifold restrict fresh air intake, which is particularly unfavourable for engine performance. Some sections of the stock manifold’s internal passage are even narrower than a 2.5-inch-diameter tube, severely limiting airflow. Additionally, the EGR inlet swirl is positioned directly in the center of the flow path, creating significant turbulence and flow disruption. This turbulence reduces both the intake air velocity and the volume of air entering the cylinder heads.

The PPE Performance Intake Manifold effectively eliminates these stock bottlenecks by utilizing large 3.25-inch stainless steel tubing, combined with hydroformed runners that seamlessly direct airflow into both cylinder heads. The problematic, flow-restricting EGR boss has been eliminated, creating unobstructed flow passages. Furthermore, the EGR inlet port has been carefully repositioned and angled to ensure even distribution of fresh air and EGR gases to both banks, thereby maximizing volumetric efficiency. To support this, the kit includes a redesigned stainless steel EGR pipe and gaskets. With these enhancements, the PPE Performance Intake Manifold achieves a 69% higher maximum flow rate than the stock component.

On the turbo inlet side, the system features a four-inch stainless steel turbo inlet, paired with a dry-carbon-fibre airbox duct. Unlike the stock components, which transition from circular shape to oval shape and then back to circular shape, both PPE components maintain a fully round design. This ensures higher flow efficiency and reduces frictional losses. Additionally, the factory plastic two-chamber turbo resonator has been removed, reducing air turbulence and weight, while enhancing turbo sound.

The best part of this kit is its hassle-free installation and OEM-like fitment. All stock mounting points - including sensor clips, dipstick brackets, and coolant hose connections - are retained. Not a single wiring harness or coolant line is left unsupported. The MAP sensor port is positioned in the exact same location as the stock manifold, with MAP sensor shield provisions.

Note:
The distance to empty (DTE) on GM trucks can’t be reprogrammed, so it will show about half the mileage that is really left.
The fuel gauge will operate properly. The fuel gauge will remain on full until about 4-5 gallons have been used and then the gauge will start to move normally. GM trucks monitor for an inoperative fuel gauge, so in some situations, until it starts to move, the truck’s computer will drop the gauge to empty to get the driver’s attention even though your tank is full. The gauge will return to its normal position after restarting the engine.
