We’re hiring — Industrial Shed, Somerville
A little while ago we brought Steve into the warehouse and Bill into sales, and honestly, they’ve both been game changers for the business.
So now I’m looking for the next Steve and the next Bill. Two full-time roles — one in the warehouse, one in sales.
A big part of what they do is look after the people who walk through our door, ring us, email us or order online. Tradies, apprentices, workshops, farms, weekend warriors. Their job is to get onto things quickly, sort people out properly, and make sure nothing gets dropped between the counter, the phone and the shelves.
What I’ve realised is that the right person for this is pretty specific.
Steve is an epic multitasker. He’s quick on his feet, he can have three jobs on the go and still know exactly where everything is, and he’s proud to use his voice. He speaks up, he asks, he tells you when something isn’t right. That’s worth a lot in a warehouse.
Bill is the same in a different way. He’s attentive to what a customer actually needs, no matter how big or small the job is. A $12 blade gets the same attention as a $12,000 fitout. He understands how to communicate respectfully in business, and people trust him because of it.
And both of them are just good people.
They’re good to work with, they’re reliable, they work hard and they want to win. They want to make money, they want the business to grow, and they genuinely care about our customers doing well too.
That’s really what I’m looking for more of.
Both roles are full-time, and there’s plenty of room in them for the right person to grow into something much bigger over time. We’re open 7:30am to 4:00pm Monday to Friday, so early starts and trade hours are part of the deal.
But I’m not looking for someone who just wants to clock in and clock out.
I want people who are hungry, switched on and ready to go.
People who like being busy. People who want responsibility. People who want to get better. People who want an opportunity and are prepared to actually run at it.
I genuinely don’t care about resumes.
I care much more about who you are, how you communicate, whether you’re reliable, whether you take ownership, and whether you’ve got a bit of fire in you.
You don’t need to know every tool on the shelf. That can be taught. The rest can’t.
So if this sounds like you, send me a DM.
And instead of sending me a resume, send me a short video introducing yourself.
