This museum is all about preserving and show casing the history of Ambulances in Victoria.

We are open to the public on the last Sunday of each month between 10am - 2pm.

Today the AV Museum had a visit & tour by members of the Cheltenham Life Activities Club. They really enjoyed seeing all that the museum has to offer and enjoyed themselves here, thanks for coming everyone.

Another successful Family Day at the AV Museum with many visitors attending to see all that the museum has to off, including this bloke who loves dressing up as his favourite hero. Thanks everyone for coming today.

The AV Museum at 1/55 Barry St Bayswater Victoria, is having another "Family Day" this Sunday 30th August and will be open from 1000am to 2pm. Admission is free but any donations are gratefully accepted. So please come & visit us to see the fascinating history of ambulances, the vehicles and equipment and how the profession has changed over the years. This is different to our regular workshop day on Mondays.

Today at the AV Museum, three of our hardworking volunteers recently had birthdays, so we celebrated the trifecta with an impromptu party. Ralph our curator, along with Buddy & Lee were treated to a well deserved delicious cake. Unfortunately we could only use a few candles, because if we put on the cake the number of candles for their combined birthdays, the museum would have burned down. Happy birthday Ralph, Buddy & Lee and thank you for all that you do for the AV Museum 🎂

Yesterday the volunteers at the AV Museum attended the VRC Flemington Racecourse to help celebrate the life & achievements of the late Professor Tony Walker ASM, former paramedic & CEO of AV. Tony’s funeral attracted hundreds of mourners who formed a guard of honour as his procession passed by. Amongst the vehicles involved was “Tony’s ambulance”, the museum’s 1992 Ford F-150 Jakab which was the type that Tony spent a lot of his paramedic career working in. Thank you Tony for all that you achieved, R.I.P.

Today the AV Museum hosted a group all the way from the Fidlers Green Retirement Village in Berwick. Our dedicated volunteer Dave gave them the full tour which they loved, thanks everyone for visiting.

The Volunteers at the AV Museum are deeply saddened with the passing of Tony Walker ASM today at the age of 63. Tony was a great paramedic and manager, he joined the then Ambulance Service Melbourne (ASM, ancestor to AV) in 1986 as a student paramedic, advancing to a long career as a MICA Paramedic. He then rose up through the ranks of ambulance management to become the CEO of AV in 2014 before retiring in 2022. His hard work and dedication to the ambulance profession earned him the Ambulance Service Medal (ASM) and widespread respect amongst his staff. He was also a great friend and supporter of the AV Museum.

The volunteers extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to Tony’s partner, Robyn, his family, loved ones, friends and colleagues. Rest in peace, Tony and thank you for all that you have done.

Today the AV Museum hosted the Werribee District Collectable Vehicles Club, with volunteers Ralph & Dave taking the group on an informative tour. Amongst the group was a former NSW paramedic and alongside them was retired AV Team Manager Hugh Esler from Bacchus Marsh. Thanks for coming everyone

Yesterday the AV Museum had eleven members from the “ Wine’a’lot Trefoil group” (All of them were also former Girl Guides) attend for a tour, hosted by Dave. They all had an enjoyable visit, thanks for coming 👍
