Chequered tuning is not open set business hours and operates by appointment only, therefore our business hours revolve around these appointments, our customers’ requirements and racing commitments. The shop is often closed to the public for product testing and development so it is important to make arrangements or a booking prior to visiting the workshop. We run a closed door system as it allows us to concentrate 100% on the job at hand with minimal interruptions.... Just like when you make an appointment with any specialist... its 100% focus on you and your car.

A little World Time Attack Challenge prep to give the NASCAR -powered VK some extra spice. 🌶️🔥

Z-pipe install to see if we can bring that epic NASCAR melody in a little earlier through the rev range.

The crossover gets the two banks talking to each other sooner, changing the exhaust harmonics and hopefully bringing out more of that sharp, angry NASCAR note.

Massive thanks to JS Performance for all the hard work fabricating and fitting this one up. There's a LOT happening under the VK, and they've absolutely nailed it.

Now we just need to hear the result. 🔥🏁

WTAC is coming.

2021 GR Yaris — EcuTek Custom Dyno Tune 🔥

Still retaining the factory dump pipe, with an upgraded intercooler and cat-back exhaust.

📈 Before: 169 kW / 331 Nm
🔥 After: 201 kW / 402 Nm

+32 kW and +71 Nm at the wheels, tuned using EcuTek while retaining the factory dump.

Simple combination, solid result 👌

400 rpm/sec on the dyno? There’s a reason for it. 👊

JT’s R33 has been on a pretty big hiatus, and with its return to the track planned, the job wasn’t about chasing a pretty dyno number — we needed to make sure it was ready to do what it was built for: lap quickly.

A 400 rpm/sec ramp rate might seem aggressive, but when you look at how quickly the car actually pulls through a gear on track under aero load, it gives us a much more realistic representation of the engine’s operating conditions.

Under the bonnet is a dry-sump RB25 wearing pretty much the full GReddy catalogue — radiator, oil cooler, intercooler, plenum and originally their T67 turbo kit.

The T67 has since been brought into the modern era by HyperGear, modified to a twin-scroll G30-900 setup.

We ran it through multiple boost levels, finishing at 505.7 kW and 729 Nm at the hubs.

More importantly, we have a broad, usable power curve and a combination ready to get back where it belongs.

Old-school R33. Modernised turbo. Built to lap. 🔥

And here’s the graph from Ali’s FL5 👀

A solid result from the custom tune — 210 kW → 266 kW, with a big improvement right through the mid-range.

🔥 +56 kW at the hubs

GruppeM intake • HKS exhaust • upgraded intercooler

Ali's Honda Civic Type R FL5 – Custom Dyno Tune 💥

Ali's FL5 came in for a custom dyno tune with a GruppeM intake, HKS exhaust and upgraded intercooler.

After carefully calibrating the factory ECU on the Dynapack, we achieved:

📈 266 kW (up from 210 kW)
🔥 +56 kW gain

The peak number is impressive, but the real transformation is the huge increase in mid-range power and torque, making the car significantly stronger and more responsive throughout the rev range.

Every car is individually tuned to suit its exact combination, delivering safe, reliable power with factory-like drivability.

Thanks for trusting us with your pride and joy, Ali! 👊

Neil's Tommy Mäkinen Edition Evo 6.5 🔥

Neil's iconic Evo 6.5 was back on the Dynapack for an upgrade, this time fitted with a fresh set of Excess Injectors injectors and a GTPumps GT762 turbo.

The combination responded really well, making 230 awkw before the factory plastic turbo intake became the limiting factor. At this point, the intake simply couldn't supply enough airflow to take advantage of the turbo's full potential.

Another solid result with excellent drivability thanks to the Haltech ecu, a great foundation for the next round of upgrades. 👊

Stock bottom end. Big result. 💪

Lockie's VE SS came in with a stock bottom-end LS2, turbo cam, 8582 turbo and a Rebel LS ECU. After dialing the combination in on the Dynapack, the results speak for themselves.

The dyno graphs are a visual comparison between a standard naturally aspirated LS2 and this turbocharged combination, highlighting just how much forced induction transforms the LS platform.

📈 Standard LS2 • 259 kW • 494 Nm

📈 Turbo LS2 • 568 kW • 918 Nm

Difference: 🔥 +309 kW 🔥 +424 Nm

Not bad for a factory-bottom-end LS2! It just goes to show how capable these engines are when the combination is right, the fuel system is up to the task, and the calibration is spot on.

Using a Haltech Rebel LS ECU, this VE delivers excellent drivability around town while still making serious power when you put your foot down.

Best of all, this isn't a dedicated race car—it's a street-driven car that also pulls weekend drift duties, proving you can have a reliable, brutally quick package that does both.

A true home-built combination, completed from start to finish by the two brothers, Steele and Lockie. 💪

PFA... 👀

What's everyone's thoughts on the demand for a rentable engine dyno?

Do you think it would add value to your business or projects by offering engine dyno packages or complete package development, rather than just tuning the engine once it's installed in the car?

To me, one of the biggest advantages would be the ability to leave a project on the dyno for the duration of the rental period, instead of being limited to a single day hire. That opens the door to proper development, testing and validation, rather than simply chasing a horsepower figure.

I know it's probably a niche market, but I can see it being valuable for engine builders, race teams, workshops, manufacturers and enthusiasts wanting to develop complete, proven combinations before the engine ever goes into a vehicle.

Do you think there's enough demand to support something like this? Would you use it, and if so, what sort of rental model or services would make it worthwhile?

I'd genuinely love to hear everyone's thoughts. 👇
