Meet Brock Glasscock: Living the Automotive Dream While Still at School

At just 17, Brock Glasscock is already turning heads in the automotive world.

Brock is a school-based apprentice with Waverley BMW, supported by NextGen Jobs, and is well on his way to joining the prestigious BMW program later this year. His passion for motorsport and high-performance vehicles isn’t just talk — it’s his lifestyle.

When he’s not learning the ropes in a world-class workshop alongside expert technicians, Brock is behind the wheel of his own Go Kart — one he saved up for through his apprenticeship wages. From karting practice at Le Mans to sharing workshop stories with his family on the drive home, Brock’s enthusiasm is contagious.

He’s proof that when talent meets opportunity, incredible things can happen.

Huge thanks to our employer partner Waverley BMW for supporting Brock’s journey and helping the next generation of automotive professionals thrive.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mums in the workforce—especially those like Tahlia Perry, who are breaking new ground in the automotive industry.

Tahlia is a third-year Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology apprentice at Midland City Nissan, part of the NISSMAP program supported by WPC Group and Nissan Australia.

By day, she’s mastering the mechanics of modern vehicles. By night, she’s raising a young child.

Apprenticeship and motherhood isn’t an easy mix—but Tahlia’s doing both with determination and grace. In fact, women make up less than 5% of apprentices in automotive trades—and even fewer are mothers. But that’s changing, one inspiring story at a time.

This Mother’s Day, we salute hardworking mums like Tahlia, proving that ambition and parenthood aren’t mutually exclusive—they’re a powerful combination.
