A Rolling Stone.

COVID-19 has certainly hit home, especially for us Melbournians. There has been little work since my crash and lockdowns have made it significantly harder to get anything accomplished.

Thankfully this has given me time and space to reflect on the build and what direction I want to take it. Over the past few weeks I have been scrutinising over the details and problems that may arise when it comes time to build so that we stay one step ahead.

Now we’re starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel, but it’s still very dark from where I’m standing.

‘Spitfire’ the Yamaha XV250 is where it all began, our very first build.

The name Spitfire came to me when I was experimenting with the stance of the bike. I remember looking at the motor which reminded me of the Spitfires that I used to see at air shows when I was a kid. The crazy loud straight pipe exhaust that constantly popped and crackled probably had some influence too.
