Audi Q3 diesel came in with Severely blocked DPF, found the root cause to be a blown intercooler caused by kerb damage - you can see the damage on underside of front bumper directly below the intercooler…

What a journey with “HUX” full mechanical restoration completed for this early and original example of 1962 VW Beetle
Sorry about the sideways video 😂

-Sitting 44 years in owners garage in Camberwell
-Towed in, body covered in spilled paint, and bird p**p lol
-Seized brakes, seized engine, engine was full of moisture but all completely original including rare VW stamped key
-New suspension steering, rebuilt king and link pins
-Restored fuel tank was cracked and leaking
-New brakes, wheel bearings, master cylinder, restored pedals and handbrake mechanism new cables new drums etc.
-Restored wheels and hubcaps
-Rebuilt gearbox all new bearings gaskets and synchros
-Rebuilt original 1200 stale air exhaust engine, linished crank, line bored case, rebuilt heads, new pistons and barrels all new bearings and gaskets, restored carby, fuel pump, heater boxes and tinware, rebuilt distributor and all new ignition components.
-All original 6 Volt system, new battery rebuilt generator and regulator, restored all 6 volt instruments and electrical functions
-New door rubbers and cleaned and polished paint work
-RWC and rego preparation for our customer.

Barry’s 1962 1200 motor was quite the challenge. Being an early ’62 it had the stale air heater boxes and all the original 6 volt parts, rare and original Australian made Bendix fuel pump, and Copper fuel and vacuum lines.

Only problem was after sitting 44 years the motor was seized solid and full of water. We had to destroy the barrels, pistons and Conrods to get it apart… a full mechanical restoration began and many hours later the engine is back in the car… will post a video of running soon 🥰

62 has been a big project with a lot of delays… Moving shop forced us to put the project on hold for around 5-6 months, so nice to be back into it again. It’s now in its finishing stages… 😍

I would like to apologise to my loyal customers who have supported me through the lockdowns and my big move, we have a huge backlog of work and booked out roughly 3 weeks at the moment…

I want to help everyone that helped me and I appreciate everyone’s support. I apologise for the delays in getting your cars back on the roads as well as getting through the routine service work due to staff shortage and delays for parts ☹️
