A midnight blue 1989 Carbodies Fairway London Taxi called Bertie. Made in England, retired in 2012.

It's been a while so here's an update on Bertie.

The metal work has been sealed with epoxy which will now prevent any future rusting. The wheel arches and underneath have been coated in chip guard to prevent stones etc from inflicting any damage and inside the boot area has also been coated as well. Looks amazing!

It's so good to see some colour on it. Next step will be sanding and evening out the surfaces and further preparations for painting.

Delighted to say that the metal work has largely been completed. 🎉

The next stage is cleaning it up, applying primer etc and getting it ready for paint. 🤗

An update on Bertie.

We're approaching the serious end of the project now. Metal work is rapidly reaching to an end with most of the major work completed. Some work still going on the doors, as seen here and there's little patch up work to do around the rest of the car.

Next up, once the last of the metal work is completed will be to apply the first of the primer! Very, very exciting. 😍

An update on how Bertie is progressing.

Since my last visit earlier in February, both rear wheel arches are now done and complete. To do those was extremely time consuming and to see panels back on for sizing up and alignment is very exciting.

Most of the big metal work is done, all that remains now is to weld in existing work and touching up most of the panels. After that, all the surfaces will be sanded and then ready for the first layer of primer.

Very, very exciting.

Since Bertie was picked up on January 22nd, a visit was in order at the workshop to see how things are going and much progress is being made.

The 2nd rear wheel arch has been made, which is no easy feat so that's great and now the old one needs to be cut out and the new one welded in.

Panels and doors are being prepared and other areas too have been worked on. It's so great to see Bertie progressing.

After 15 long months and after 15 months of hard work, the day has come for Bertie to go back to the workshop for the next round of work. Very exciting. 😍

What a glorious day!

For Bertie it's the perfect day to get it home safe and tucked away as funds for it can be replenished and work can resume again soon.

This is the first time since November 2022 Bertie has been home. Much has changed with it since then.
