Stolen, Thrashed, Repainted — And the Exhaust Was Hacked & Dumped
This Boss 290 came in after being stolen, thrashed and repainted. Underneath, the exhaust had been hacked and dumped,. and nothing about it was standard so I adapted what was left into a proper setup — all 3”, all mandrel, all 409 stainless.
In the video I go through exactly what I found and how I adapted what was left into a proper 3" setup the right way.
You’ll see the real condition it arrived in, the damage left behind, and the full process of sorting the system so it actually works. No shortcuts, no pretending it was a factory job — just fixing the mess and making it right again.

Customer Dodges a $2900 Bullet — Road Debris Destroyed Their Cat!
This customer thought they just had a bracket issue.
Once I inspected it, the truth was obvious — road debris had impaled the second catalytic converter, bent the pipework behind it, and caused a major exhaust leak.

A full OEM replacement would have cost $2900 in parts alone.
Instead, I repaired the damage properly for $100 in half an hour.

That’s the difference between replacing parts and real exhaust repair.

1991 Pajero Back on the Road — Custom Exhaust & Catalytic Converter Revival.
This 1991 Mitsubishi Pajero came in with a completely rusted‑out catalytic converter and exhaust system — and no parts available anywhere. We built a full custom setup in‑house: new cat, muffler assembly, tail section, all detachable and warrantied. The owner’s restoring the vehicle and drove away absolutely wrapped.

It had lasted for a few years, but the crustomatic muffler putty encrusted system was due for replacement ( and a reprieve for the extractors. ) Glenwood FZJ75 style. Fresh 409 stainless Aussie made system and not too loud. Only took 2 hrs including extractor/flex repair to give it some more life...All for under $1500. Thanks for coming in Kevin.

An unusual day but not good for videos.
Highlighting a most unusual home-made muffler that needed to be swapped out for something different ( jigged and made on the bench...no car here). A 45 minute job. Start to finish.

EDIT.......Advance notice...Following contact from my specialist this morning, Workshop will now be fully closed Wednesday 26 august ( not just closing early) but WILL be open as usual from thursday onwards. ( further post if this changes). Also....please,...send a pleasant thought for Young Mr Grasshopper. He's been off since mid last week & is medically off until further notice for medical reasons but is home again. Workshop bookings and jobs being scaled back to suit.

It came back in with a rough 100 dB twin‑pipe setup, and now it leaves with a custom 3.5‑inch stainless mandrel system delivering a sharp, supercar‑inspired tone.
