SIMPSON DESERT TO CAPE YORK – AUGUST/SEPTEMBER 2026 🇦🇺

📍 Arkaroola, South Australia

Not a bad spot to pull up for the night! 👌

Camp set up, gear unpacked and after plenty of dusty kilometres… even the washing got done! 🤣 Nothing like an outback clothesline hanging off the awning.

Surrounded by rugged ranges, a running creek and some absolutely spectacular scenery — Arkaroola is something else.

This is what the trip is all about. Getting off the beaten track, camping out and enjoying this incredible country we’re lucky enough to call home.

Camping, not glamping! 😂

📍 Gammon Ranges, South Australia

Sometimes you’ve just got to stop, look around and appreciate what a bloody beautiful country we live in.

Travelling between Blinman and Arkaroola, the scenery has been unreal — rugged ranges, huge skies and an incredible display of wildflowers and native flora bringing the outback to life.

This trip isn’t just about tackling the hard tracks and putting our 4WD gear to the test. It’s about getting out there and seeing parts of Australia you simply don’t experience from the highway.

The Gammon Ranges certainly didn’t disappoint. 🇦🇺

Plenty more kilometres, tracks and adventures still ahead as we make our way from the Simpson Desert to Cape York!

Simpson Desert to Cape York Trip – August/September 2026 🇦🇺

What an absolutely amazing day! The views out here are next level, but Bendleby isn’t just about the scenery — this is REAL 4WDing. 💪

Steep climbs, rocky tracks, big descents and plenty of country that puts both the vehicles and the gear to the test. Bendleby has more than 200km of 4WD tracks ranging from mild through to seriously challenging.
