Unclear about edge filtering rules in Queensland? Here’s everything you need to know. ⬇️
What is edge filtering?
👩🏫 Edge filtering is where a motorbike rider rides at low speed on road shoulders or in emergency stopping lanes past stationary or slow moving traffic.
In Queensland, motorcyclists can legally edge filter if:
✅ They hold an open licence for the class of motorbike they’re riding (no L or P platers); and
✅ The speed limit is 90km/hr or more; and
✅ They travel at 30km/hr or less; and
✅ They’re on a sealed part of the road; and
✅ They are not in a tunnel; and
✅ There are no roadworks; and
✅ It’s safe to do so.
