CHEERS π»to an idea, a thought I had some thirteen years ago ,and what a great idea it's been.
It's not often an idea works out way better than you first thought, but this one has, I'm so greatful, and I recon at times it's saved my life.
Time's were a bit of a struggle back then after a four year battle with terminal tongue cancer and losing my trucking bussines, deffinatly a character building time of my life.
I didn't know what to do,so I prayed πfor help,
then one night it came to me in a flash, I'd never heard of it before,,mobile roadworthys,in the next flash the name came to me,,Roadworthys on wheels.
So around this time in 2010 it all started.
What a journey it's been,,wow I can't believe it,it's given me so much,,some of the best time's an ole mate could ever imagine.
I've seen, driven and inspected some of the best cars, trucks, and bike's on the planet and met their owners,a real preilvage for me.
I've traveled to the State's, ticked near every thing off my bucket list,I helped Mozz and my team along the way and lived life's dreams to the fullest for an ole mate.
But the best bit was having my youngest son Michael come on board as my apprentice, business partner and best mate on the journey with me for near seven year's of this time, such a special time for me,,something money can't buy, such a precious time along the journey.
So here I am at the Duke, in Scrubby being my home town for the last five years in my Big shed,,again what a blessing.
Surrounded by cars and trucks all of my life time favorites,Ford V8s and Kenworths, all courtesy of my little bussinesπ.I just can't thank it and my clients that have used my services over the past thirteen years enough.
Like all good things, times change and tomorrow will be one of thoes time's, the 13-4-23 will be my last day as a full time inspection station ,as of next Thursday im taking a position with Lucas Van damme and Van damme team who the been my longest heavy vechile clients over the past twelve year's.
I feel lucky and privileged to have this opportunity to work with, now for, Lucas as I have great respect for the way he has worked with me and the way he and his team have built Van damme Plant Hire to what it is today.
When I first started working with Lucas they had three truck's.
Its always been a real pleasure to work with Lucas and the Van damme team as my clients, now im looking foward to of being part of the team as they build their Coal transport division at Dsyart on a full time basis, driving a triple Roadtrain, something that's always been close to my heart.
Its a little bitter, sweet tonight as I ponder my last day, roaring around town in my Red XR Ute,,always on a mission to get to my next job.
But on the other had time doesn't stand still and my clock is ticking over 63 soon, and I feel confident I've given Roadworthys on wheels my best over the past thirteen year's,,and ive never had a come back π.
So my last stretch on my working life will be as an employee,,something I've never done before, but I couldn't think of a better team to work with, the camp life and shift work will all be a bit of and adventure for this ole mate, can't wait
I will be keeping my station open for Motorbikes and Heavy Vechiles on my days off as I'm on and ever time roster, just leave a message and I'll call when I can.
So lastly I'd like to thank everyone that's made this journey possible for me over the years, the girls at transport to all my thousands of customers and referrals from friend's and family, what an amazing journey, thank you all soon much π here we go.
Much love from an ole Blokeπ πππ π΅.
