🚨 How many kms are on your diesel engine? Has it ever had an intake clean? 🤔

Because of the EGR system in modern diesels, this is what a lot of intake manifolds end up looking like over time 😳

Carbon and soot build-up can get so bad it eventually starts restricting airflow, blocking intake ports and in some cases can even lead to engine damage or failure if left too long.

This Prado came into RSSR Automotive in pretty rough shape with a blocked EGR system and fault lights on the dash. After an intake clean and repairs, it’s back running properly and ready to hit the road again 👌

If your diesel is lacking power, throwing fault codes, smoking more than usual or hasn’t had an intake clean with high kms, it might be time to get it checked out.

This Ford EcoSport came in for some front-end attention, with front wheel bearing replacement and a fresh set of Monroe struts fitted to get it riding smooth and tight again. 👌

Tidy Toyota LandCruiser 75 Series in the workshop for its 450,000km service 👌

Carried out:
• Timing belt
• Water pump
• Valve clearances
• Intake clean

While we were in there, we also came across a couple of damaged components that needed attention, sorted those out to keep everything running as it should.

Another solid old Cruiser getting the love it deserves 🔧

Our new Mazda BT-50 is about to become the RSSR workhorse. We’ve got a few mods lined up over the next couple of weeks. Follow along as we build our next camp touring rig. 🔧🏕️

This customer was having issues with their rear lights. Once we pulled it apart, we found all sorts of poor previous work.

We cut out all the old joins and redid everything properly using glued heat shrink to seal out moisture. Also replaced sections of wiring that were full of green corrosion.

Came in with most lights and the horn not working, left with everything functioning as it should, with no dodgy work. 🔧

Diff radius arm mounts had clearly been repaired a few times over their life.

We cut the old mounts off and fabricated a fresh set from scratch to ensure proper fitment, strength, and reliability.

Another solid fix done right the first time. Get in touch if you need repairs like this sorted properly. 🔧

🏍️ DO WE WORK ON MOTORBIKES?

The question has been asked…

Short answer, I don’t have any formal training or certification as a motorcycle mechanic.

I’ve been around bikes my whole life. I’ve been riding since I was 4, and grew up learning from my old man who did all the work on our bikes. From a young age I was doing my own maintenance and repairs, and that’s continued ever since.

We’re a moto family, both my kids ride too 🤙

It’s not something I’m actively chasing as part of the business, but if you’re stuck and can’t find anyone local, feel free to reach out. If I can help, I’ll sort it out in my spare time 👍
