Young fellas should know better than to make bets about TD42s with us.

Dylan has been talking up his TD42 for a while now with claims of big horsepower.

The bet was made, that we would run it up for free if it made 300HP or more. If not, he had to pay up.

Seat of the pants dyno said maybe 270 on the test drive and it wasn’t far off. Still impressive numbers for simply bolting stuff on. This is just another case of more boost does not equal more power and everything has a sweet spot. Wastegates play an important role and EMP kills power.

As a consolation prize we armed Dylan with the info to help get this thing over the 300 mark.

Jimmy’s fresh TD that we built for him last year in for its run in tune.

The pump doing pretty much as expected for the 100cc bench tune given the big wheels. With everything looking good on the engine we gave it a little nudge but still staying very conservative with fuel and timing as this donk only has around 1000ks on it.

These were definitely some of the crustiest King Shocks we’ve come across. These ones live in an Isuzu truck on a mine site so they have a pretty hard life.

Fully rebuilt and like new again now.

Definitely won’t miss this one on the tracks with a paint job like that!

The big purple bus on the rollers for a bit of a checkup and tune.
Running a big T04E turbo and external gate she was quite laggy and as usual we had issues with the external gate opening prematurely and only making 6psi boost. With that issue rectified we got the boost up to 16psi and were able to max out the stock 10mm pump.

It’s not often we have to change the power and torque scaling on the dyno! 🤠

This one’s been on the dyno a couple of times before but always had issues with the intercooler piping. We had Whiskey business customs knock up a new pipe for the hot side and get rid of all the silicone joins then it was back on the dyno to see what this thing could really do. Fitted a Tillix Performance and Tuning compensator pin to get a bit better ramping of the fuel to get this thing coming on song hard while still having a little bit of control over soot.

The little 21L turbo is well and truly pushed to its limits now!
