Awww too cute! So keen to see these majestic creatures passing by our Mackay coastline very soon!
They’ve been in big numbers at the Gold Coast for the last week or so, it won’t be too much longer now! 💙🐳💙🐳💙🎉🎉🎉

We don’t usually find ourselves out in conditions like this, but today’s charter had a special request: an ashes scattering near Flat Top Island.

The family were determined to honour their loved one’s life, drizzle, swell and all, so off we went.

Along the way, we noticed the Rescue Helicopter buzzing us before it began hovering over another vessel in the distance. We listened carefully for a radio call expecting a rescue operation, but heard nothing.

As we passed by, the helicopter descended and a crew member was lowered onto the vessel. It certainly looked real.

About 30 minutes later the mystery was solved when the radio crackled to life with congratulations on the successful completion of a training exercise.

A huge shout out to the crews who train in all conditions to be ready when the real call comes. One of our guests captured these incredible photos during the exercise. 🚁🌊⚓

The pics look like they belong in a rescue calendar! 👌
