Locals supporting locals

When we opened the workshop I had no idea how many people spoil their mechanics with gifts of things they have made or grown or even just seen and loved in their adventures.

I am frequently wowed by how clever so many customers are with their creations.

I’d really love to share some of the endeavours of our awesome customers and raise awareness for other locals, a weekly locals supporting locals post if you will.

I would love to hear in the comments if you are a customer and would like some free publicity in the form of a shoutout post. Or even if as a customer you know of an amazing deserving business that you love that more people need to hear about.

For the first post I have to share this incredible custom artwork of Marky’s favourite band which we are so proud to have decorating the workshop. It was a surprise piece that involved some undercover intelligence gathering from our apprentice Indi on Mark’s favourite band and serious art skills. 🤩🤩🤩

To say he loved it is an understatement!!

Anyone who has spoken to me about cars for any length of time will know I’m a colour girly. The brighter and sparklier the better.
But yesterday three unique and fun cars conspired to make me smile despite being white and glitter free. 😉

Sharing in case anyone reading this also could use a car.

I know I shouldn’t have favourites but the third one brought the biggest smile.

On Friday I headed up to the shed on a mission to get the Repco sign out and write an appreciation post.

We have been so lucky with supportive suppliers who make sure we get the best parts and consumables in the fastest time. We appreciate all of our wonderful suppliers and couldn’t do what we do without them but Repco especially has believed in us from day one, committing to a fast paced delivery schedule when Mark’s Mechanical was just one superstar mechanic working out of his shed with big dreams.

We’ve grown into one of their biggest buyers and couldn’t be happier with their service and support.

I got a wonderful surprise when I got to the workshop to find we’d won an awesome prize pack as a result of our dedication to Ryco Filters from Repco.
It will be a source of great joy for our two mini mechanics who didn’t have a gaming console and will cause some heated battles on the Mario Kart Track once the boys are off to bed and Mark and I can settle who is the best or most ruthless racer.

So thank you again to Repco and Ryco, firstly for your incredible service, and your high quality products, secondly for being an awesome crowd of people we are lucky to have in our lives and thirdly for the awesome prize pack.

Superstar apprentice Indi hard at work switching out the tread challenged tyres on Mark’s Ute so we can safely make it down to Horizon Performance Part’s Girl’s Garage Night tonight.

We can’t wait to meet other car enthusiasts and women in workshops.

On the safety note, don’t forget especially in these on off rainy conditions how slippery the roads can get and the difference a good set of tyres with decent tread can make.

Mark’s Mechanical offers free tyre safety checks if you have any concerns or you can check it easily yourself by looking for the tread depth markers in your tread and ensuring they’re not even with the flat part of your tyres.

They shall not grow old, as we that are left grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning, we will remember them.

Mark’s Mechanical wish to honour the service men, women and animals, past and current who risk their lives in defence of our country and values.

We would also like to wish everyone safe travels to services or on adventures over the long weekend.

Be safe on our roads and watch out for double demerits.

I have chosen to share this photo of a Wirraway plane as a nod towards Mark’s Pop who served and was injured as a pilot flying wirraways in the airforce during WW2.

I took this photo at the incredible Warbirds Over Scone event earlier this year where it was very moving seeing the historic planes fly in formation.
