Louth Races AUGUST 2027 - DATE TBC - USUALLY THE FIRST SATURDAY AFTER THE BANK HOLIDAY The Club stages a 7 race program, with prize money plus trophies and sashes.

2025 Louth Races - Saturday August 9th

Capture the magic of the Outback at one of the friendliest, and most unique, race days in Country NSW - the Louth Races, hosted by the Louth Turf Club. Louth is situated on the banks of the Darling River, 132km north west of Cobar and 100km south west from Bourke. Sky Channel will be in operation for off-course and interstate punters and all the usual amenit

ies such as betting fluctuation, bar, barbeque and afternoon tea will be available. No alcohol is to be brought onto the course, however BYO is still permitted in the camping ground. Camping spots with firewood, toilets and a few showers are provided at the race course. HUGE Fashions on the Field prizes in the Best Dressed Lady and Best Dressed Gentleman events. Novetly Dress competition. LIVE Bands will entertain the crowds at Shindy's Inn on Friday night and again following the races on Saturday at the track. The Louth Turf Club appreciates your feedback on the event and we'd love to hear from you if you have any suggestions about how to make our event bigger and better! A huge shoutout to the ICPA - Louth Branch for running the TEA SHED at the races on Saturday. The punters certainly enjoyed the smiles, variety of sandwiches, hot foods and sweet treats.

For those that don't know, The Isolated Children's Parents' Association (ICPA) was founded in Bourke in 1971 and advocates for equitable access to education for rural and remote children and families. After all, dropping the kids off to school isn't such an easy thing out here.

DID YOU CATCH US ON TV?!

A huge thanks to the SUNRISE team for their segment yesterday morning, shining the spotlight on one of Australia’s great country race meetings. Out here a good sense of humour is more important than pronunciation ;-) The NOVELTY DRESS event is such a crowd pleaser that we run before the traditional FASHIONS ON THE FIELD events.

Well done again to the winner "Elvis" who stayed in character well into the night.

Put Louth on the list and we’ll do it all again next year!
