The truth is, your car usually gives you plenty of warning before something fails completely. Strange noises, vibrations, squeaks, rattles or warning lights are often early signs that something needs attention.

🚗 What Happens When You Have a Head Gasket Leak?

A leaking head gasket is one of the most serious engine problems a vehicle can have. The head gasket seals the engine block and cylinder head, keeping oil, coolant and combustion gases where they belong.

When the head gasket starts to fail, those fluids can mix or leak, leading to major engine damage if it's not repaired.

Common signs of a leaking head gasket:

🔥 Engine overheating
💧 Coolant loss with no obvious leak
🌫️ White smoke from the exhaust
🛢️ Milky oil (coolant mixing with engine oil)

Your clutch works hard every time you drive, allowing you to smoothly change gears and transfer power from the engine to the wheels.

Over time, the clutch components wear out. Some common signs that your clutch may need attention include:

⚙️ Clutch slipping or revs rising without acceleration
⚙️ Difficulty getting into gear
⚙️ Shuddering or juddering when taking off
⚙️ A clutch pedal that feels different or unusually heavy
⚙️ Burning smells
⚙️ Unusual noises when pressing or releasing the clutch.

When replacing a clutch, we don't just look at the clutch plate. The complete clutch system is inspected, including the pressure plate, release bearing and flywheel, to make sure everything is working correctly.

🔧 GEARBOX REPLACEMENT – IT'S A BIG JOB!

A gearbox replacement isn't a quick repair. It can be a major job that requires specialist equipment, experience and plenty of time.

The gearbox is heavy and often difficult to access, meaning a number of components may need to be removed before we can get to it. Once the new gearbox is fitted, everything needs to be correctly reassembled, adjusted and tested.

• The gearbox can be difficult to access
• Other components may need to be removed
• Specialist equipment is required
• Correct alignment and installation are critical
• The vehicle needs to be thoroughly tested afterwards
