🤔 Is it a legal requirement to hold the steering wheel a certain way? 🚗

You may have been taught the '10 and 2' method for positioning your hands on the wheel, but this is not legally binding ❌

There actually isn't a rule that specifies how a driver should hold the wheel, Road Rule 297 requires that drivers must always have proper control 📝

For safety, drivers should steer with both hands on the outside of the wheel (except to use other controls), with either ‘pull-push' or hand-over-hand’ method 👍

🏍️ Motorcycle safety in NSW is getting a boost with new reforms set to roll out over the next few years!

The reforms focus on Learner, P1 and P2 motorcycle riders and include:
✅ Enhanced rider training and testing to better prepare learners for riding on the road
✅ Learner, P1 and P2 riders required to wear gloves when riding
✅ Learner riders required to wear high-vis vests while riding

🛣️ You're driving along when suddenly you’re dazzled by an oncoming car’s high beams and struggling to see... what should you do? 🫣 🔦

To stay safe, you should ⬇️

👀 Look to the left side of the road
⬅️ Drive to the left of your lane
✋ Slow down and if you need to, stop somewhere safe until your eyes adjust

Only use high beams when you’re more than 200m away from oncoming vehicles or cars ahead and never use lights that could dazzle or distract other drivers 🚗
